The Eleventh Commandment Should Be To Fact Check What You Read, Especially If It Looks Like Clickbait
The eleventh commandment should be to fact check what you read, especially if it looks like clickbait or if it looks like something very one-sided or black and white. Nothing, nothing, no issue political or societal can claim to be one hundred percent right, or correct, or ethical according to only one source. Always fact check. Always look at both sides of things if the sources are available.

Anyone who thinks North Korea is awesome needs to read Escape from Camp 14.
I finished watching a documentary called Loyal Citizens of Pyongyang in Seoul that was about two ex-citizens of North Korea who had very different takes on their country than what we usually hear from popular defectors.

We all hear the stories of North Koreans starving during the famine but what we're hardly told is that the US wanted them to starve and made it worse by placing sanctions to destabilize the country. Even former president Jimmy Carter admits this yet we still wonder why North Koreans hate America so much.
Another thing talked about in the film was that many defectors are paid to lie and exaggerate their stories by South Korean intelligence agencies and American organizations. I am by no means a tankie but this made me question how much of the propaganda we see about North Korea is actually true. Here's the link if anyone's interested: Loyal Citizens of Pyongyang in Seoul
Probably won't have time thanks to Grad school, but reblogging for the Japanese grammar bc I want to start learning a little now that I've spent 2 years doing a little French every day.

the more I think about that video of the guy kicking the anti-choice woman to the ground (presumably) the more disturbed and angry I become… I would never want a woman to be harmed by a man in the pursuit of women’s rights generally. that’s so backwards and not at all what feminism should stand for. everyone should be slamming that kind of behaviour lol
The other day I was listing off the books on my goodreads list pertaining to feminism at my parents house which went something like this:
Me: I've got Delusions of Gender: How our Minds, Society, and Neurosexism Create Difference By Cordelia Fine, Female Erasure: What You Need to Know about Gender Politics' War on Women, the Female Sex and Human Rights (By several authors and editors), I’m still waiting on Material Girls: Why Reality Matters for Feminism By Kathleen Stock, I really want to get to TRANS: When Ideology Meets Reality By Helen Joyce, and also All the Single Ladies: Unmarried Women and the Rise of an Independent Nation by Rebecca Traister.
My Dad: Don't you ever just read a good fiction book?
Me: Yeah I have 24 new ones stacked up in the guest room. I've read 3 so far this year (2022), but I don't have a lot of time for leisurely academic reading while finishing up my MSN . I do read stories and opinions from other radical feminists on an esteemed website where I can contribute my own thoughts each morning though.
(He looked surprised. I didn't mention the website was tumblr....)
microdosing on having a degree by reading radblr like the morning paper
