luffy - when animals really take a liking to someone BUT ALSOOOOO when they treat animals really well!!! the way animals react to someone actually says quite a lot! maybe it’s their animal instincts???? WHO KNOWS!!!! if an animal doesn’t like them OR if they treat an animal badly, GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE!

zoro - when he’s dropping you off and waits for you to get inside before leaving!!!!! LIKE PLS THATS A BIG YES. zoro ALWAYS waits for you to get inside before he leaves, he really thinks it’s just common sense for someone to do that!!

law - is comfortable with silence between the two of you. being able to just enjoy each other’s presence without the need of conversation is a big thing that not everyone is capable of. but, law??? law is more than comfortable to sit in silence and just enjoy your company. he doesn’t feel pressured to fill the silence.

shanks - when you eat out somewhere and then they stack all the plates and tidy up the table a little to make it easier for the servers. BIG YES. don’t come around here with that “but it’s their job” bullshit, that will NOT fly!!! It’s respectful, and really basic manners.

mihawk - is EXTREMELY punctual. literally, he’s ALWAYS on time. it seems simple and like a no brainer, but unfortunately not everyone thinks that way!!!! it says a lot about a person when they’re constantly late to things, so when someone is constantly on time, especially for matters concerning you.... well that is just A BIG GREEN FLAG!!

Relationship Headcanons- HCs

WARNINGS: None Characters: Robin, Nami G/N Reader

There is no other person on the planet who is as patient as Robin. It is extremely difficult to actually get her to a point where she will raise her voice or become visibly upset over something.

Typically will want to resolve any conflicts through quiet conversation. The communication with her partner is unparalleled.

She actually really enjoys when her partners tries to get her to open up a bit and do less 'mature' things together. Robin knows she's a very quiet, closed-off person, so she appreciates someone who looks out for her and wants her to also have conventional fun with the rest of the crew and yourself.

Every once in awhile, Robin gets the urge to cook something for herself and her s/o. Sanji can insist all he likes that he can make something for the two of you, Robin wants to make it with her own two (or more) hands.

She has the utmost faith in her partner. Does not get jealous, and would be pretty concerned if her partner got jealous of anything she did. Isn't sure what reason you'd have to doubt her loyalty. She'd never be unfaithful.

Loves listening to you talk about the things you're passionate about. She might not say much other than a nod or a hum as you speak, but she loves the way your face lights up when you discuss your favorite things.

Hopes you would do the same for her history and archaeological interests.

Your most frequent pastime together is reading books on the deck of the Sunny, and when you finish them, comparing the plots and seeing if you'd recommend the other to read it.

Nami is your #1 supporter in anything and everything. You need a hype-girl? She's got you covered.

Will defend her s/o in confrontations, regardless of if she's typically a coward or not. She won't stand to see her s/o brought down, in any way, shape, or form.

Loves shopping together with you. You have an eye for fashion, while Nami is an expert at netting the best deals. You're a dynamic due when it comes to shopping.

Favorite place to take an afternoon nap with you is under the shade of her orange trees on the Sunny. It's where she feels the most relaxed, and with you next to her, there's nothing quite like it.

Nami might require a bit of reassurance and validation from time to time from you, but she isn't needy. Acknowledge her with a smile and she's golden again.

People think that her love language is gifts, but it isn't. She prefers actions of love, since those are almost always genuine and difficult to fake. Do things that make it obvious you're thinking of her selflessly, and show her you truly love her. That's all she could want.

Nami can be petty sometimes, especially when she feels like she isn't being listened to, so your disagreements typically turn into a few hours of separating on the ship, until you come back together to discuss how the both of you feel.

I'm happy to present you some comforting stuff I wrote for you again! Maybe you haven't known yet, but I have two malignant tumors in my thyroid. That's why I decided to write something for all of the currently ill One Piece fans.

When Sanji learns about your health condition he becomes more loving and caring than he's already been, and you may think no one can compare to him in the art of love. But it's his lifestyle that he has been developing since he was a child — to love his S/O and remember about them almost every moment of his existence. Of course, he cooks the most delicious and healthy meals that completely fit your diagnosis demands.

Although Ace acts like he's a tough guy, he has a delicate heart indeed, so when Marco told him such bad news, large tears welled up in the corners of his eyes and poured down his freckled cheeks. Then he comes to you, hugs you, and tries to light up a soft flame inside of his chest, so you can warm yourself in his embrace. Eventually, he falls asleep while hugging you. The boy loves you so much, and you're a fuel of his fire.

Oh, pal, every hospital that has denied you treatment will be burned to the ground. Rocinante fully intends to find the best doctors and meds for you. He doesn't leave you for a single moment and soothes you when you're worried or sad with his sunny smile and funny behavior. All the doctors that treat you will tremble like autumn leaves because Kid scares them almost to death. But with you — only with you — he tries to be calm and soft, although it wents out clumsily.

He shows no emotion and is concise not because he's indifferent — Killer does it because he doesn't want to demonstrate to you his intense concern. He gives you the peace of mind you do need by keeping you in a good tune. He acts confidently, and it helps you to stay calm about the shared future both of you have expected. His support is laconic but meaningful and wholesome as well as his calm and reliable soul that he dedicates to you.

Luffy is the most chaotic supporter that has ever existed. He encourages you, makes funny faces to hear you giggle, does everything for the bright smile on your face he once had fallen in love with; you're the whole universe for him. If you need something, he will find it and bring it to you, even if that thing is located on the edge of the world. Just tell him — and he will fulfill any of your wishes as if they have always been equal to his dream to become the Pirate King.

And remember: you're the most important person for these men.

-the swordsman turned glancing over his shoulder with a shadowed expression "are you okay?"

-your hand was clasped over your mouth in shock and there were a few tears wetting your cheeks, but you nodded nonetheless

-now zoro turned completely and reached you in few strides, wrapping his muscular arms around you and pulling you firmly against his chest

-very stiff hug, but it was warm and safe and zoro placed a kiss to the crown of your head as silent reassurance (as he was still too angry to unclench his jaw)

-shanks sat a little ways away at a table with his closest crew mates, all of whom had noticed the unwavering seemingly emotionless stare that shanks wore

-your boyfriend was shouting at you as quietly as he could but some of it was still heard over the noise of the bar and the crew inside it

-of course shanks hated how aggressively he was talking but he hated even more how scared and uncomfortable you looked

-he was about to get up and go over to pull you away, and when your boyfriend raised his arm it just gave shanks a reason to get up and over there quicker

-the whole bar silenced as your boyfriend was thrown into one of thee tables breaking it in the process, shanks stood in front of you glancing over his shoulder and gesturing to your boyfriend before a few crew mates moved to grab him

-shanks grabbed your hand a little too hard in his lingeirng anger, and led you out of the bar around the corner into a narrow street

-he raised his hand slowwly, carefully running his thumb over the reddened mark after brushing the remaining tears away

-"are you okay?" he asked with unfamiliarly serious tone and cold expression, you said yes and shanks face immediately softened into a small smile

-he enclosed you in his arms and rested his chin on the top of your head after diving down quickly to kiss your cheek, "i told you he's a piece of shit"

-he was already trying to stop himself from going over to the other side of the deck where you stood, marco was beside ace watching the same scene with a slightly less angry expression than ace

-with every angry word spit from your boyfriend's mouth ace could feel his jaw growing sore from clenching it, his knuckles turning white as he gripped the glass of water in his hand

-small flames ignited on his right shoulder

-eventually ace saw your boyfriend raise his hand and ace's eyes simultaneously widened in shock and narrowed in anger

-within a second of the slap, ace hurled the glass of water across the deck hitting your boyfriend square in the face causing him to scream and stumble back

-everyone turned towards him then to ace wwho stalked menacingly towards you boyfriend on the floor, grabbing his collar and hauling him up only to punch him down again

-thatch broke out of the crowd and grabbed your boyfriend himself giving ace a small shove towards you before dragging your boyfriend through the crew mates towards whitebeard

-ace hurried over to you. with his face softening into a smile as he instantly encircled you in his embrace once he reached you

-he brushed the hair out of your face and softly cooed to you as he ran his thumb softly along the side of your face and wiped away the tears as fast as they fell

Magical realism and religious imagery are some of my favorite things to read about. I feel like it adds that layer of magic and wonder to stories. Not to mention it always reads like poetry to me. So have some of my magical realism and religious imagery one piece headcanons ~

Luffy

I like the idea that Luffy steps on ground that adores him. The earth shivering with each step, teasing the sea that it can touch while she can't. The shore pushes sand against his skin and the water whispers to him that he need only ask and she'll make way for him. The waves pull apart and a path is available but never taken. Everything taken from him is heavy, his cloak pulls the shoulders down and is made of something more than fabric. His hat is heavy with intention and blessings. Something old and great and sacred layered in it. They give him food and praise and gold. It doesn't feel like enough. They think of old blood offerings and fire light constantly to show devotion. They call him king even though he has no crown and the sun follows him like a lover.

Zoro

I like the idea of everything Zoro touches becoming more. Alcohol is aged and fine, blood is brighter, food is richer. Wine settles in his glass, thick and dark like blood. He is joy and good times and the wrath that comes with it. He fights like Cerberus, protective and fierce, nipping at the heels of the damned. Three swords, three earrings, three faces that look back at him in the mirror. His earrings carry like wind chimes made of bone, calling spirits and promising home. They bicker with the swords at his hips in languages he doesn't understand but also does, it makes his head hurt and a horrible growl start in his chest. Times slips past him and it all feels familiar. How old is he?

Nami

I like the idea of Nami having lichtenstein marks on her skin, flashing in bursts like lightning before vanishing. Different parts of her skin lit up like a trapped storm. How she picks clouds like wild flowers, finding the fullest and whitest ones to keep in a jar. The clouds always seeming fuller over her, other worlds tucked away in the vastness. Gold glinting in her hand even though there's no sunlight to catch it, the glow eye catching in its beauty. She smiles with sharp teeth everytime she makes a bet and a her hair makes shadows like fox ears and a trickster tail flicks behind her. A bag at her hip that never ends. She can crawl in it and the walls stretching on forever are covered in sketches of places she's been. Clouds float by from broken jars and drift up up up... unfinished maps and broken pens and bottles of ink, gold and jewels and treasure are strewn on the floor.

Usopp

I like to think of Usopp with strings and threads. Weaving stories that make Arachne jealous and pulling strings like the fates. He points at constellations that move through the sky, taking shapes and dancing like they're listening to a heavenly waltz. He leaves small toys around the Sunny for the spirits that join them briefly island to island. A small hand clutching at his shirt as he paints a carved figure wearing a raincoat. He's every story passed down by word of mouth or told around a fire, centuries of imagination that speak in his ear. He shots his target like a hunter and his bow, an arrow notched in a cresent moon and shot like a shooting star.

Sanji

I like the idea of Sanji making a handful of things last whole meals. A cup of flour makes enough bread for the whole crew to feast and a small cup of water lasts for days. He breaks bread and it never stops. Sometimes the blue of his eyes is beyond any known color, deeper and more vibrant than the ocean. Sometimes you'd almost swear you can see the shadow of a fish before it darts away behind his iris. His lighter never fails and sometimes the smoke smells like incense and takes the shape of animals before drifting away. He makes the ship a home, makes the kitchen the heart of it. He burns like the fire of a hearth.

Chopper

I like the idea of Chopper being a place of safety. He brings to mind churches that are always unlocked and cries of salvation. Holy water that cleans skin that didn't appear dirty to the eyes. How angels were depicted as cute and welcoming but written more as monsters. Warm fur and feathers poking though occasionally, soft little things and easy to miss in the heavy coat. Antlers that are more bone white than they should be, that cast shadows on the wall like long reaching fingers. Gentle and loving but raining wrath down on anyone who brings danger or pain to his, like old mother goddesses who love and hated with unrivaled passion.

Robin

I like the idea of Robin being all knowing. How eyes are used through history in temples and scripture and it makes you think of her and how she sees it all. She puts her palms on paper and the words crawl on and up her skin like tattoos desperate for a canvas. The pages she leaves behind are blank but sometimes knowledge isn't meant to be shared. She brings death in a burst of petals and they find the bodies she leaves behind in puddles of dark blood and white bone and beatiful flowers. She steps like Persephone on the earth with death and rebirth. She smiles with spring and winter.

Franky

I like idea of Franky building the Sunny like a temple. The ship built to be never ending and constant, new rooms around every corner. Some hold old forests that reach up and up and strange noises that aren't identifiable. Some have sand for miles and too many suns in a odd colored sky. Some of them are locked. He takes pride in a ship meant only to house something that will shake the world. Salt settles in the cracks of the ship with whispers of purity and protection, the wood creaks with strength and love, and the iron holds strong with courage and confidence. He wields a hammer like it's sacred, bringing it down like he's forging lightning for Zeus instead of a home for his crew.

Brook

I like to think of Brook bringing cold with him. He speaks with the breeze of fall and the slow build of death. Sometimes his eye sockets glow like coins in low lighting and he moves with sounds like a paddle through calm water. He brings the smell of cypress trees with him, cleansing the air like it's holy. The shadows follow him at night and are longest at 3am, when they weave through the lines of his shadow like embracing a lost lover. He plays his violin and the sounds of old prayers and lost songs fill the air.

-he forgets a lot, he'll tell you to look at something and you'll be like "luffy-kun... i can't :/" and you can actually see him get confused then try to figure out what you mean then realize it, then he describes whatever he wanted you to see to you

-he'll also pull you around a lot, grabbing your hand and forgetting to warn you so sometimes you'll accidently trip and then luffy gets yelled at by ace, sabo, and dadan

-he absolutely loves when you trail your hands across his face, he can't stop giggling and smiling and asking you questions about what you think he looks like, and he'll try to describe himself

-he'll randomly grab your hands and place them on his face

-honestly i can't stress how many times he forgets you're blind

-but he always holds your hand even when he forgets so it's kind of like you have a guide dog 😂

You tug at Ace's muscled arm, the tips of your fingernails lightly digging into his bare skin in urgency. "Let's just go, please."

Ace turns to you and pauses, heart clenching at the plea in your voice. When you and Zoro get within earshot, the man atop the rooftop yells, "Damn, thought you were smokin' hot at first. Didn't realize your face was fucking ugly!"

You freeze in your tracks at the man's insult, head ducking in embarrassment when you realize the abrasive comment was meant for you.

The rest of his posse laughs and mockingly points at you. A female voice rings loudly from the onslaught, her sharp nail pointing at the green-haired swordsman beside you. "Hey, handsome! What are you doing with that rat face?"

Without a word, Zoro glares at the woman, causing her to flinch at his cold indifference. Unperturbed by his lack of interest in her, the woman on the rooftop leans closer to the edge of the railing and shrieks at you, "Don't ever show your face in public ever again!"

Zoro's hand reaches over the hilt of his katana. Before you can stop him, the sharp steel of his blade swings forward in a diagonal line aimed directly at the building in front of you.

"Enma!"

You startle at Zoro's command, doe eyes watching the building before you as it begins to collapse sideways.

When they start to lose their footing, the group of strangers on the rooftop of the sliced building begin to panic.

"Wh-what the hell's going on?"

"Oh god, honey! Save me, please!"

"The building's collapsing! What the fuck happened?"

"An earthquake?"

"We need to go! NOW!"

Spiky black hair standing in opposing directions, he attempts to compose his appearance by flattening the top of his hair to no avail. Understanding the futility of his actions, he quickly gives up and focuses his attention back on the group of strangers.

"Room."

You've heard him utter those words far too many times, followed by the next word serving as the final nail in their coffins, completely sealing their fates.

"Shambles."

What was once living humans was now reduced to a pile of flesh, their body parts floating in midair.

The look of horror in the strangers' faces as they scramble to put together their original bodies will forever haunt you. Although, there was some twisted part in you that appreciated Law's gesture.

Now Doffy is a tricky one, he finds your childish behaviors and antics to be amusing and relatively cute. However, when he is a bad mood, he might use your innocent nature for his own advantage.

He has a corruption kink, and loves the idea that no matter what he does or says to you, you still stick by his side and never seem to change your behavior either. He supposes your childish nature also makes you stubborn, but deep down he loves that loyalty.

When he’s not in the mood to deal with you, he will suggest you play with Sugar or Dellinger. If you persist you want to stay with him, or even play with him, your only response will be a Joker grin and him getting rough with you. You will probably leave with regret and bruises if you aren’t too careful.

Sometimes your behaviors remind him of his childhood and Rosi, so he can be even extra sour and bitter at times, don’t take it to heart too much, he does appreciate your loyalty and dedication, he just wishes you didn’t remind him of such rotten memories.

Gets a kick out of you defending him, and telling others he is a good person. It definitely feeds his ego, that someone as cute and innocent as you, sees something in him. He muses he should get your eyes fixed or replaced, but decides against it. 

Similar to anyone in his family, he does not take kindly to others mocking you or patronizing you for your actions. If he didn’t find it annoying than neither should others. Honestly I wish we got to see more fear run through people when they realize they fucked with a Strawhat crew member or a Whitebeard crew member.

That moment of pride because they captured someone or won a fight only to get a cold, sinking feeling in their gut once they realized who exactly the other person is.

That mantra of ohnoohnoohno that must run through their heads.

Like, the marines were probably thrilled to get Ace as their prisoner but I wonder how many people there were like oh fuck no. I never should have taken this job. Whitebeard is going to rain hell down on this place.

Or people who try to snag one of the strawhat crew or hurts them. Or if it's something stupid like bumping into one of them and Luffy isn't even mad but when he looks at the person they just drop everything and take off.

The way these crews are strong and friendly but there's this undercurrent of danger.

How easy it is to forget that these are feared and wanted crews that have earned their bounties and reputations.

The fact that Whitebeard is a father figure to so many and radiates that air of quiet calm. How Luffy and his crew are chaotic, young and very goofy sometimes.

Honestly I feel like it would be terrifying to watch the change that happens when they get serious.

A fatherly Whitebeard turn cold and cruel.

Or watching Luffy eat his way through his meal while laughing with his crew to steam rolling off his skin and eyes so dark they burn.

Not to mention the crew.

Zoro drinking and cheering with other people shifting to having all swords out and bloodlust drifting of him like the scent of salt off the sea.

Nami talking about the next island in excitement shifting to holding the power of a storm in her hand and wrath in her eyes.

Usopp and Chopper running around in fear over something scary and harmless shifting to Chopper roaring like a beast freed from hell and Usopp already aiming for a weak spot that that someone didn't even know they had.

Sanji carefully icing a cake and mixing colorful drinks shifting to bright hellfire on his heels as he kicks through wood and stone and muscle and bone.

Franky showing off all the silly things he can do with Robin reads an old book next to him, quickly shifting to the whirls of gears taking on an ominous grinding noise and Robin turning sharp eyes on the threat who feels the faith brush of fingers against their neck in warning.

Brook playing cheerful songs and singing loudly shifting to his violin making a jagged wrong note and the cool gaze of death turning on the threat.

I just think it would be fun to see people shit their pants over these beautiful morons.

This man is so loud so you have absolutely no idea how you didn’t hear him coming, you can usually hear him like 3 rooms away.

You’re just spaced out staring at the sea when he decides to yell in your ear about wanting to dock on that island in the distance

Needless to say you jump about 20 feet in the air.

Luffy thinks that this is the funniest thing ever and now that he’s discovered that you’re easily spooked he goes out of his way to sneak up on you and get a reaction.

Does his shishishi giggle everytime so you almost think it’s worth it.

For someone who sleeps so much you think he’d let other people enjoy their naps... nope.

You wake up suddenly one day to find his face inches from yours and you actually scream.

I feel like he’d be slightly annoyed.

Comes up behind you one day when you’re sitting at the table and goes ‘Y/N-chwaaan~’

You absolutely go tumbling off the chair.

Instantly he’s like ohmygod I’m so sorry, he’ll be very apologetic and help you up, and he’ll be blaming himself.

Now, unlike Luffy, he takes extra care to be super loud when approaching you so you don’t get hurt again.

You’re in your room one day when she just barges in and you actually jump in fear.

Nami would chuckle mischievously and store this information for later use.

She’d probably tease you about it a lot.

TRAFALGAR D. LAW X READER

You prided yourself on your ability to hide things from your captain. Dozing off in the cabins whilst doing your chores? Sneaking an extra portion during dinner? It was second nature to you now, and all of it went unnoticed by your sceptical captain. However, concealing the gaping wound in your side from him was another matter entirely, and it wasn’t going as swimmingly as you’d expected.

When your crew had first set foot on the isolated island, several hours ago, in search of supplies for the diminishing pantry of the submarine, it had been idyllic. The sun beat down on the Heart Pirates as you trooped ashore, fields of emerald grass swaying in the warm, tropical breeze that followed you from the ocean. That is, until a huge group of camouflaged bandits leapt from the huge trees and out of the thick bushes to unleash a barrage of attacks against your unsuspecting crew.

It had been easy enough to take down the bulk of their force, untrained as they were, but your crew was caught by surprise. A lazy slash of a silver dagger would have ended Bepo’s life if you hadn’t deflected it with a block of your own, leaving your back completely defenceless and earning yourself a knife in the ribs for your troubles. No one had noticed, and at first you’d barely felt the pain - until, of course, the adrenaline pumping through your veins began to wane.

Now, hours later and heading for dire straits, you refused to ask anyone for help. It was embarrassing, for someone as strong as you to be almost taken out by a half starved man wielding a dagger so blunt it could’ve seconded as a butter knife. No, you had to stick it out for a couple more hours until the crew retired to bed and then you’d patch it up yourself without anybody noticing your blunder.

Unfortunately for you, a handful of others had been injured and Law had needed your help in the infirmary the second the battle ended. He’d been running you ragged for what felt like years; sending you for bandages, asking you to do a couple of stitches here and there, making you grind herbs on herbs (which was hard to do with shaking hands). You were glad to help the crew, but less so as the pain shooting through your abdomen became more intolerable with every passing minute.

Finally, just past the stroke of midnight, you and Law were left alone in the sterile, bleach white room. Your head was now throbbing uncomfortably in tandem with every beat of your heart, the wound in your side still gushing so much blood it had nearly soaked through the bandages you’d hastily shoved underneath your shirt less than an hour ago. Now, you just had to get him to depart for bed and you were in the clear. But then, this was always going to be the hard part.

“You must be wrecked, captain,” you fake yawned, ignoring the excruciating pain that stretching your arms caused, “I think it’s time for bed.”

“Leave if you want, y/n-ya,” Law barely glanced up from the notes he was scrawling at light speed, “I want to finish these tonight.”

You felt like screaming in frustration. Knowing your captain, he would be up for several more hours dissecting his own notes and medical research under the harsh white lights. You’d likely be passed out by then, if not worse.

Your vision started to blur as you scrutinised Law, wondering if you could conjure up some lie just to get him to leave. Maybe you could pretend you could hear Bepo sneaking around the kitchen? Even as you pondered if that would be believable enough, black spots began to dance in your peripheral vision. You gripped the cold metal frame of the infirmary bed beside you for support.

“Oh, I think I’ll stay too then.” You blurted out, blinking the spots out of your vision, determined to hang on as long as you could.

This time, Law looked up, staring straight into your eyes with his own piercing grey ones. At least, you think he was. Currently you could see two of him, swimming in and out of your vision. Something in the back of your mind told you that you’d been found out - Of course Law would find it strange that you’d volunteer to stay with him in the infirmary all night, you hated reading sheets upon sheets of chemical theories that he made you look over whenever you did find yourself down here.

His eyebrow raised slightly, as his eyes flitted down to register your white knuckles clutching the bed, and then back up to examine the beads of sweat collecting on your forehead. He did not look amused. In fact, he looked almost angry, the side of his jaw twitched as it clenched in irritation.

“Come here.” It wasn’t a question. His voice rang in your ears, fuzzy and distant, but you could hear the command behind it.

“I’m... I’m comfy here, thanks.” You managed to breathe out, staring at the floor as your vision tuned in and out, unable to keep your head up any longer. Vaguely, in the part of your brain that remained functioning through the immense pain, you registered urgent footsteps drawing nearer.

A single finger underneath your chin tilted your head back up, so that you could view Law looking down at you, his gaze fierce. Were you delusional now, or was there a hint of worry in his eyes? His eyes travelled up and down your body as if to ask ‘Where are you hurt?’ The support of his finger kept you up straight as you breathed deeply before answering.

“Side.” You grunted, nose beginning to trickle blood as you lifted your shirt to reveal the gaping wound.

Alarm flashed across his expression before he regained his composure, his face returning to stone. Wordlessly, he picked you up and laid you across the pristine bed, with more gentleness than you thought a man like him was capable of. The sudden change of positions caused a sudden blood rush, and you blacked out before your head could even hit the pillow.

When you awoke, you could only feel a dull pain in your side, and a pair of eyes glaring at you. Judging from the sky outside, it had only been an hour or so since your fainting episode, but Law seemed to have worked his magic. Your mind felt sharp again, your vision unblemished and clear.

“Wow, you work pretty fast.” You chuckled, hoping to dissipate the calamitous vibes emanating from him. His elbows were resting on the right side of your bed, fingers laced in front of his face as he watched you.

“Why did you not tell me?” He asked coldly, ignoring your feeble attempt to lighten the mood.

“Because I didn’t want anyone to think I was weak.” You admitted. Perhaps it was the drugs in your system, but you didn’t feel like hiding the truth from your captain. Especially since he’d just returned you from a state of unconsciousness.

“You’d rather die, than admit you were careless in battle?”

“Yes.” You retorted gruffly. Someone like Law would never understand the constant need to prove yourself, how could he possibly understand your thought process?

“Tch. You’re even stupider than I thought you were, then.” Law leaned back in his bedside seat to study you, face unapologetic.

“Great bedside manner, doc.” You rolled your eyes, stung by his comment. “Why do you even care what happens to me? It’d be one less mouth to feed.”

For a split second, Law looked as if you’d slapped him across the face. If you hadn’t been watching him so fervently, you’d have thought it was a trick of your imagination.

“Is that how you think I see my crew? As mouths to feed?” His voice was so low it was almost scary, just above a whisper but almost a growl in the way he said it.

You didn’t answer, just stared up at the ceiling, feeling stupid that you even admitted how you felt. You sounded like a school girl demanding more attention from a crush. You decided to blame it on the drugs coursing through your system and pretend that this conversation never happened when you woke up.

“Look at me.” Another command, one to be obeyed. Reluctantly, you turned your head to look at him and found his face inches from your own, tilted slightly in annoyance.

“Do you even know how I would feel, if I let something happen to you?”

MARCO THE PHOENIX X READER 

The battle had ended hours ago, but the war you were waging with yourself continued on. On one hand, you wanted to tell Marco that you were in extreme pain from the wound you’d received from a flying bullet. On the other hand, you didn’t want to ruin the celebrations that were taking place on the ship tonight.

It seemed that you were the only one who’d been seriously injured earlier in a fight against some inconsequential pirate group. It had happened on the ocean, as the two ships had glided past each other, cannons and guns blazing. Of course, there was no ship in the New World that could best the Moby Dick, and so the opposing ship had surrendered all their gold and goods after only a few cannon balls exchanged - but unfortunately not before a stray bullet had lodged itself into your shoulder.

The victory was a cause for celebration, a huge feast that night with endless drink and meat supplied by the vanquished pirate crew. You didn’t want to ruin everyone’s joyful mood, and especially not Marcos, who’s night would be much less merry if he had to spend it stitching up your shoulder.

You were too afraid to take the bullet out yourself, and it was doing it’s job of staunching the blood flow, so you decided to leave it for tomorrow, when everyone had enjoyed their night of stuffing themselves with alcohol and fresh food and a bullet wound would be nothing but a scrape for Marco to heal.

So that’s how you found yourself on the deck of the colossal ship, staring into the midnight sky and counting the glinting stars to distract yourself from the throbbing pain of your shoulder. You had a few pints of beer down below before you’d escaped up here to the secluded deck to be alone. You’d almost blown your cover when Ace had one of his napping episodes and fell asleep right on your shoulder. You’d let out a yelp, which was fortunately drowned out by everyone’s booming laughter at Ace’s antics, but you hadn’t missed the way Marcos eyes had watched you leave shortly after. With any luck, he had just assumed you’d retired to bed and would think no further of it.

“The stars more interesting than our company tonight?” You groaned internally at the sound of his voice from a couple of feet behind you. You knew it was Marco before he walked up to join you, leaning against the oaken railing of the ship and staring at the sky aswell.

“Just came up for a breath of fresh air.” You faked a grin and hunched your shoulders so that your wound didn’t brush against him; you wouldn’t be able to disguise your pain then.

“Too much drink, yoi?” Marco turned so that his back was to the sea and he was facing you, his arms stretched leisurely across the shelf of wood.

“Something like that.” You admitted, inching away from him. You’d never been good at keeping secrets from him - he was too kind and too engaging for you to be able to keep your mouth shut.

“The view is better from the crows nest.” Marco placed his arm around you to draw you in, about to fly you up like he usually did on clear nights so you could admire the stars. But tonight you were in agony, and there was no concealing the hiss of pain you let escape as he grasped your aching shoulder.

“I knew there was something wrong,” He smirked, and dropped his arm, looking down at you superiorly, “Tell me what happened.”

“Nothing happened.” You snapped, annoyed at yourself for revealing your injury, “That was a burp. I ate too much. Go back inside and have fun.” You went behind him and gave him a solid shove with your good shoulder, but he didn’t move an inch. He only turned, and grabbed your good arm carefully, holding you in place with a smug expression.

“Oh? Think you can fool my medical expertise by claiming that was a burp, yoi? I think I’ve heard Ace enough times to know what that sounds like.”

When you didn’t answer he placed a gentle hand on your strained shoulder, and you felt his blue flames before you saw them dancing in your vision. Instantly, your torment was soothed, and you let a sigh of relief escape before you could stop yourself.

“No.” You shook yourself away from the pleasant sensation of his healing flames, “It’ll take all night to heal this, and by then the party will be over, I can wait until tomorrow.” Even as you said it, the pain returned 10 fold and you grimaced in discomfort, unable to stop yourself from clutching at your shoulder. You backed away until your spine hit the wooden wall, the selfish half of you secretly hoping that he would stay with you.

“When are you going to understand, yoi,” Marco grinned as he stopped right in front of you, placing his hands on the railing on either side of you, effectively trapping you; forcing you to look up into his calming eyes, “I would rather spend all night healing you, than down there knowing that you were in pain.”

You blushed furiously at his words, too weary and exerted to form a witty response that you’d usually be capable of.

“So,” Marco continued, “Are you going to come with me or am I going to have to do this the hard way?”

“I’ll come with you.” You grumbled, taking the arm he offered to you as he led you to the infirmary, hoping he couldn’t see just how elated his words had made you.

If Ace wasn’t already pestering you with affection, boy he is now. This freckled fuck will not speak up no—he’s too prideful for that. What he’ll do instead is cause you inconveniences throughout your entire day with a straight face. He’ll knock over your water bottle like a cat, shove his face on the newspaper article you were reading with that cute pout of his. He’s snatch away food or things you’d hand in your hands from behind you without announcing himself. Basically he’s one big cat.

If that doesn’t work, then he’ll start whining and hugging you so you don’t walk off. He’ll be incredibly annoying and just squeeze you and get on your nerves until you give him what he wants. Trust me, he’s done this before and it’s almost always effective.

“[Y/NNNNNN]” you hear your commander cry out, you just grumble and continue to try to read your already burnt magazine in peace. See, yesterday Ace was being cocky and a nuisance. He did nothing but arrogantly comment on how much stronger he was than you and made you blush in front of Thatch which was a death sentence since Thatch will tease you about it until next Thursday.

So today, as payback, you’d ignore Ace. Well, or at least would try. But the damn man is so difficult to ignore! He put his puffed out cheeks on your magazine and purposely burnt a small section of your magazine in some vain attempt to get your attention. Naturally, you got up and pushed him away. And of course, naturally he followed you all around the deck.

Finally though you found a small private corner of the Moby Dick and you settled down for your own sanity. You’re just about to open up your magazine to read about 10 signs the universe is telling you to buy a new pair of shoes until you feel warmth. Radiating warmth. You deadpanned at particularly no one as you felt Ace’s hand touch your shoulder. You looked up to be greeted to his annoyingly teethy and shiny grin. You were definitely going to kill him later.

“Whatcha readin’?”

Sabo

Nothing will stop Sabo from wanting your attention. Nothing. He’s so damn persistent that you eventually have to give in. Unlike his brother Ace, Sabo doesn’t give a damn what you’re doing and won’t bother with silly little things little swatting your mug off the table. Sabo will pick you up and plop you on his lap and continue his conversation with Koala about his favorite exercises.

When he wants attention, Sabo will get it from you. And you honestly don’t know if this attractive or if it scary how determined this man gets sometimes.

“Sabo…Let go…! I’m still mad at you for my teddy bear last night!” You struggled against Sabo, squirming like a fussed baby. But the blonde just held you with his one arm, occasionally tightening his grip on you when you tried to wiggle your way off of his lap. You groaned in humiliation and defeat as you went limp and laid your hurting head on his shoulder. His grip loosened with your defeat. You could tell Sabo had his stupid smile by the way you heard him exhale.

“Lover quarrels huh Sabo?” Koala teased, making him chuckle and bounce his leg a little. “I guess you could say that…” he responded in the most amused tone.

You grumbled curses under your breath. Then you began your final attempt at escape, literally forcing yourself to stand out of Sabo’s lap and thank god it caught him off guard! You actually forced his arm to pry open and you felt pride and ego wash over you. You were sooo gonna tell Betty about how you caught Sabo off guard.

But like all good things in life, it came to an end as Sabo’s arm immediately slithered around your waist and sat you smack dab between his legs. He rested his head on top of yours to be extra sure you wouldn’t leave. How were you gonna escape this one…?

Monkey D Luffy

He’s annoying off the bat. The minute he even THINKS you’re not paying attention you’re gonna PAY attention to him. He’s gonna tug on your shirt, whine, cry out, pout and sigh excessively like a little kid. You almost began choking him the first time he did it to you. That just proves how effective his methods are.

He’d turn the cuddle bug in him to 200% and start hugging you and pulling your arm, almost using you as a jungle gym. Though he’s very cautious about this because the other day he did this you dropped him on his ass and Sanji had the biggest laugh of his life.

You swear you heard angels singing when Luffy FINALLY shut his noise hole. Sanji had served him a delicious plate of mashed potatoes and medium rare steak that made him drool and sit down patiently at his seat so Sanji could pour him some water. You glanced at Sanji, giving him a softened look that said thank you. He just smiled at you.

Sanji left back to his post in his kitchen, cooking you a meal as well; your favorite meal. While you heard Luffy shove his mouth with mash potatoes and pieces of steak, he glanced at you making eye contact. You quickly side-glance so he wouldn’t start talking and spitting his meal all over the table. But all you hear was Luffy’s happy munches and his “mmm’s”.

“Oi, (Y/N),” Luffy began. “Wanna go to this super cool beach me and Nami spotted?” You could see his dimples and his cheeks covered in small bits of meat and potato. You just smiled and fed him a small piece of steak from his cheek,

“Only if you promise to stop whining so much.”

can I have headcanons of zoro, sanji, kidd, and law with a male s/o who takes the dominant role in the relationship and takes care of them a lot. There also a very badass and strong fighter with a bigger bounty than them.

Zoro

Not used to being paired up with anyone. He was a lone wolf before joining the Straw Hats and it still resonates.

Getting together was definitely a journey.

It gives him a lot of relief, knowing that this s/o is strong enough on his own.

But that doesn’t mean you get to dote on him the way you do! 

Besides getting him drinks, you always bring a bit of his favorite sushi or fruit.

You also accompany him on walks. 

"Zoro, you're going the wrong way." You chuckle. He grumbles.

"Whatever, we get there when we get there."

You gently pull him by the back of his sash.

"Come on. Follow me."

He grumbles again, pink on the neck.

The two of you in public are terrifying. The Pirate Hunter Roronoa Zoro fast asleep leaning onto you while you sip a drink from the bar and read the paper.

He doesn't really care about your bounty being more than his. Your skills on the battle field prove themselves and so do his. You two raise hell and money won't change that.

Your relationship is really quiet in the public eye. Most people are too afraid to speculate anything about you two. 

He takes your powerful abilities and endurance as a challenge during sparring and working out together. 

Afterwards, in the shower together, you take turns scrubbing each other’s backs and running your soapy and callused fingers through his hair. He contentedly smiles...and then falls asleep on you. 

“Every time..” You say, bemused, carrying him back to the men’s quarters. 

Sanji 

When he first met you, he really was surprised a powerful male had such an amiable temper. 

Most pirates somewhat of your caliber were awfully cantankerous, bloodthirsty, and cocky, having climbed through blood and bone to get even close to where you were on the food chain.

Of course, you were all of those things. Only when you needed to be.

He’s so used to taking care of his crewmates. Your doting and caring nature really feeds his touch-starved soul. 

After a long day of cooking for the Mugiwara crew, he’ll take a seat and let you make something from your home village. 

“I’m better at fighting than cooking, that’s for sure.” You laugh, chopping vegetables to throw into a pot. 

Sanji shakes his head, cigarette smoke waggling in the air. It’s late, and it’s just the two of you. 

“You’re doing just fine.”

You always keep an eye out for him when facing foes who might have an advantage in a scrimmage with Sanji. If an enemy is more long-distance, targeting Sanji, you’ve already broken their neck before they can land a move. 

“I could have kicked his ass.” Sanji scolds. You shrug. 

“Just looking out for you, handsome.” 

Sanji lights a cigarette, flattery getting somewhere and to him. 

Back when he was dealing with his family, your wrath against the Vinsmokes and the Big Mom pirates got your bounty up another million. 

His immediate family would be pretty impressed Sanji was the apple of your eye if they weren’t busy with you trying to rip out their tracheas. 

You’re in the kitchen again, Sanji trying his best to hide how he feels until you wrap your arms around his shaking form. 

A warm hand rubs his back as he sobs. 

“Nothing’s gonna hurt you, baby. I’m right here.” You assure. 

He needs more people like you in his life willing to carry his burdens and be there for him. 

Kid

His crew warms up to how you protect those around you in battle. You’re just if not more brutal than Law and equally as protective. 

It’s such a headache to the other people trying to defeat Law. Now he has a boyfriend can whoop ass too?! Why can’t things be fair for the antagonist. 

Law taunts other people with his middle finger, you standing behind him as if to say “Make a move. I dare you.”
