Yk how everyone headcanons that Diavolo and MC are best friends, and that no formality is required between the two? I like to imagine that it’s that way for only MC, and only ever has been. Main cast being mostly exempt, I find it interesting to imagine that Diavolo actually does hold standards for others, even if he goes about it in his more approachable Dia way. If that were true, it would also make more sense for Lucifer and Barbatos to be as defensive of his title as they are - or, perhaps, they only demanded such respect from MC due to their human status. Nevertheless, ngl, I do rlly wanna see a Dia who raises his voice a lil… (you rlly can’t blame me for this, he’s so fine)
