When game devs hide little secret treasure chests behind waterfalls, when they leave a bit of gear in a weird little dark corner, environmental storytelling, notes, when they hide little fun things in places your character isn’t “expected” to explore

It’s the devs smiling at you from months/years ago and saying “you did it - you played and explored and found the little gift I left for you”

I LOOOOVE when games richly reward the curious instinct in a player, when they give you little prizes for your urge to sniff around and explore even when the plot is pointing the other way

God, it’s so human. Hiding little things for others to get excited to find? So us ❤
