I sure do love sunny days. How old am I? Eighteen years old. What do I tag my own posts with? Reibekuchen redet. What languages do I speak? Russian and English, but I'd love to learn another one some time. My pronouns? They/them. What colour and animal I would call my favourite? Green and cats. Unfortunately, they're always out of green cats.

first post will be this gamzee

I wanted to do something for the holidays before it was too late, so have this little thing :]
Homestuck au where humans and trolls can't understand each other (bonus points if their languages are so different from each other they can't actually learn them good enough to communicate without any restrictions)

started this one a bit ago and decided to finish it,, lots of flavors of meowrails <>
The real question is... what languages do trolls speak? There are at least two languages spoken on Beforus ("English" and "Japanese") and it's probably the same for Alternia, BUT

Tavros proves us that there's also "Spanish" on Alternia
I'm not sure, if other languages were referenced by trolls as well, but I think it's already enough to state that they've got something fun going on with languages. Unfortunately, it's never directly addressed in the comic (as far as I know), but it all makes me think... Does Alternia have absolutely the same language families Earth has? Or does it simply mirrors them, but they all are entirely different languages? Do you think Japanese and languages with different from Latin alphabets would look similar to or nothing like their Earth equivalents? Does the magic of "learning the troll language just by looking at it" also work for humans that know other languages that potentially might have troll versions of themselves?
