The Last Hours!Pokemon AU 

James and Grace were childhood best friends and they wanted to become Pokemon Champions together, but Tatiana forced Grace to become a coordinator instead. When she found out Grace wanted to fight in Leagues, she blamed James for it and moved Grace far away. They reunited years later when James came to cheer on Matthew in a Contest where she also competed. (I have this cute little story about how they found two pokemon eggs and they took care of them together, and then they both hatched into eevees 🥰)

I’m thinking about making the Carstairs family Gym Leaders. They inherited it from Sona’s family (she’s the current Gym Leader) and she married Elias who was a Pokemon Champion. Cordelia really wants to follow her father’s footsteps and also become a Champion, while Alastair is fine (maybe? idk yet) with inheriting the Gym from his mom.

I have a few ideas for the other characters but I’m open to suggestions! 💖🙏

full disclosure, i never played any games. all my pokemon knowledge comes from the show.

I’ve said this before but I keep thinking about it every time someone mentions the TWP characters. We somehow got into a situation, again, with 3 traumatised sad boy teenagers who are going to be absolute drama queens and have really interesting relationships. While Dru & Thais are our only source for girl on girl content and that kinda saddens me, and while I’m looking forward to TWP it sort of dampens my excitement and makes me a little nervous.

Listen, I love Grace and think that it's messed up that the fandom villainizes her so much. She had basically 0 choices in her life, she was physically and mentally abused, she grew up horribly isolated except for her abusive mother and a dead brother who, upon her helping resurrecting him, rejected her and posited that they should ship her off to the countryside for more isolation. It's incredibly messed up, she asked for none of it, and she's been violated over and over again. She had a horrific power forced on her in a forest when she was like 10. It's fucked up. Give her some grace. No pun intended.

However.

That being said, I hate how the fandom acts as though James and his loved ones (specifically Cordelia, Matthew, and Thomas) need to forgive her immediately or even ever. She sexually assaulted three people. Literally. It was that bad. And she mind-controlled James for years, and stole a lot of his life and free will. It would in fact be extremely weird and messed up if everyone forgot about that instantly. As the reader, we should see and understand that Tatiana and Belial are responsible and abused Grace. But as a human being who has had a lot of his life stolen and had his feelings muted for years, James is in fact not obligated to forgive her for her direct role in this. None who love him are.

These things need to coexist before this fandom can have any productive discussion on Grace.
