I feel like people forget how stinky Arthur is (and probably the entire Van Der Linde gang too)
Like most Victorians were already pretty stinky by modern standards and outside of sponge baths they didn’t really bathe more than once a week. But the gang didn’t have a proper house (minus Shady Belle) so if they wanted proper baths they’d have to go to town.
And generally I don’t know anybody who bathes all that often in-game. I think I’ve only bathed 4 times across both of my playthroughs
