In hindsight, we were, but like.
When I was at the pyro course - the instructor was like. "I can use everything up to and including Det Cord, and I refuse to be in the same room as commercially retailed holiday fireworks. Those things are fucking TERRIFYING." And that always stuck with me. Hence the "hey guys this says bury them in six inches of sand do we...?"
I brought up safety, it was summarily overruled, DON'T OVERRULE SAFETY.
(But unsafe makes better stories).
