My grief with news via police reports is they never put what the motorcyclist was wearing in terms of protective gear. "Biker DIES!" Yah but were they in a half helmet and T-Shirt? Or full gear? Because all my full gear accidents (single vehicle, me) have been dust off and keep going, no need for a police report or road closure; doesn't make the news. So the public gets thus skewed perception that all motorcyclists are just waiting to die at any moment because that's how the news reads. Almost like using a smaller and more maneuverable form of transportation is discouraged, to steer the public into protecting themselves in 8 foot hood tank-trucks. More informative reporting should lead to things like "well no shit he died, he was in a tank top," not "all bikes are death". Bleh.

the things that are reported matters. the language used matters. what is left out of the story matters.

heyy its almost deer season again. Please remember if you are in any area where there are Deer that you should drive the speed limit and with your lights on and be aware of your surroundings, especially at night, and the sides of the road are as important as the road itself. Go slow at night, they are easy to miss. Dont tailgate because if a deer steps out of the driver in front of you and they brake or swerve, All Three Of You Will Have A Bad Day. If you are being tailgated and are unable to pull off so they can pass you: slow down or continue going the speed limit, you want to have enough time to react to both obstacles in front of you and the moron behind you

speaking of, don’t swerve for deer. Smoke that motherfucker i mean it. That is not bambi and hitting it is going to do Way Less Damage to you and your car than say a tree or the guardrail or another car. You and your squishy human body are way more important than that deer, there are 50 million of that thing in the USA alone and only one of you. Do Not Swerve For Deer.

The above advice does not apply to moose.

and WEAR YOUR GODDAMN SEATBELT
