idk how about you, but I see Furina as an aging woman who’s trying to look younger than she actually is. And well, she’s quite good at it, but there’s still something lingering between her lines, something tired and old as time itself, as few human lifespans she lived through. Her existential problem is not one of a yesterday school girl who graduated and doesn’t know what to do, no. It’s one of an old woman who spent her whole life doing a single job perfectly, and now this job is suddenly not needed anymore. And though this is stated in her Character Story 5 and some other materials, I think we don’t talk enough about how utterly traumatising this is. Like, she openly states that people have no further use of her 😭 it still breaks my heart even after almost a year after her release.
