Hi!!! I heard your asks were open and I was wondering if you've heard of Good Meowmens, from Tumblr user the Chekhov? Could you maybe write a fanfic if it like Maybe of one where Aziraphale is a show cat (pure bred white British Longhair) sneaking behind dumpsters to meet his alleyway cat boyfriend (Oriental Shorthair black)? It's okay if you won't though thank you for your time I love your works!! 🥰
Dumpster date
Pairing: cat!Aziraphale x cat!male!reader
Warnings: none, just fluff
A/N: Thank you for introducing me to the wonderful au that is Good meowmens! Credits to @thechekhov for creating it! I had fun reading the mini comics and I love the art style! I don’t know basically anything about cat behaviour, so I hope I did it right and that it met the expectations!

Aziraphale has always lived a dream life. He got adopted as a kitty by a young couple and lived alongside them in a nice, cozy house with a small garden in the back. From his early age, they took the utmost care of him. Maintaining his fur, feeding him healthy food and keeping his mind stimulated, even though he much more prefered sleeping or exploring than playing. But he still had the opportunity if he so chose.
In turn, he let his humans take him to shows, where he did his best to win, without overworking himself of course. Aziraphale never really thought of his humans as his owners, he strongly believed that he is his own cat and no one can be the boss of him. He took his humans more as roommates, ones which he got along nicely with. They took care of him and he agreed to participating in the shows they oh so loved.
He was also given a nice collar, one that had a strange device built into it, which allowed him to go through a cat door built into the door leading to the garden. Aziraphale thought it was foolish of his humans to let him in and out just like that, but he has never had any desire to leave and so, despite how easy it would be, he never ran away.
And so the three of them lived alongside each other nicely for years. The seasons came and went, the seasons where the days were spent inside and then the seasons spent outdoors. He especially liked the warm seasons where his humans would take him out to the garden where he could explore to his heart’s content and where he could lounge in the sun all afternoon.
However, the older Aziraphale got, the more he noticed the noises that could be heard in the narrow alleyways between each house, where the dumpsters were and where all the humans threw all the uneaten food and its various wrappers.
Sometimes he would just sit by the fence and listen, trying to figure out what was the cause. One summer evening, Aziraphale decided to go out to the garden, to catch the last sunrays and lay in the grass that was still warm from the hot day.
As the sun was setting, his nap was interrupted by a thud that came from by the fence not far from him. Aziraphale perked up his head and looked in the direction the sound came from, already covered in shadows of the early night. As his eyes were searching the darkness, they caught movement. Out of the shadows came another cat. Aziraphale could tell it was a male and just as the stranger came from his hiding spot, their eyes met.
Now, Aziraphale wasn’t stupid. He heard from the other competitors at the shows about stray cats that didn’t have roommates or any homes to begin with. He just didn’t expect to find any here. The others always described them as scary and dangerous, someone one shouldn’t mess with.
They both watched each other with caution, prepared to run at the slightest sign of danger, the stranger crouched on the ground. Aziraphale took this time to get a good look at him. He’s seen cats the same breed as the stranger at some shows, but they looked different from this one. He was completely black, all legs and big ears, completed with an unusually shaped head, not to say that was surprising. But his frame was just so thin, one of his ears was a little torn on the side and his fur looked dirty and sick. The poor guy was just probably hungry, Aziraphale thought.
Slowly, he rose to his feet and called out to him “Hello!” he tried to sound as non-threatening as he could. It seemed to work, as the stranger, too, rose to his feet from the crouched position in the grass “Hi.” he muttered.
And that’s how Aziraphale and (Y/N) met. (Y/N) was the stranger cat’s name, he later learned. That evening, Aziraphale managed to sneak out some food for him, although the next morning he got scolded for knocking over the bag of cat food. (Y/N) quickly ate it and swiftly jumped over the fence, into the alleyway, leaving with a short thank you to Aziraphale.
He had to admit, that was the most interesting experience he had in a while and was secretly hoping to see him again. And it seemed he was in luck, because a few days later, (Y/N) came back and sheepishly asked for some more food. That night, he stayed longer and thanked Aziraphale properly. After that, he visited more and more frequently, until he came every day, no matter the season or weather.
As (Y/N) got healthier, the friendship between him and Aziraphale got stronger. Aziraphale eventually learned that (Y/N) humans also adopted him as a kitty, but when he grew up they didn’t like how he looked and so they drove him to the outskirts of the town and never came back for him. That was the first night Aziraphale spent outside, cuddled with (Y/N) in the grass, keeping each other warm, because he didn’t want to leave him alone.
A few evenings ago, (Y/N) once again thanked Aziraphale for everything and told him to wait for him by the dumpsters, because he wanted to show him something special.
An tonight was the night. Tonight would be the first time Aziraphale would leave his home. Temporarily, yes, but it was still something he had never done before. He never had a reason, until now. From an early evening, Aziraphale paced along the fence, hyping himself up. What was the big deal? He just needs to jump over the fence. Granted, it was higher than some of the obstacles at the shows, but not higher than some furniture at home. But what if there’s a dog on the other side? If there are stray cats, why couldn’t there be a stray dog? No, (Y/N) would tell him if there was. Aziraphale took a deep breath “Well, here goes nothing...” he muttered and jumped.
Well, that wasn’t so bad, he thought to himself once he was up.
On the other side there was no grass, just cracked and old asphalt. Aziraphale jumped down with a soft thud. In a short distance he could see the dumpsters and various bags surrounding them. He headed over to them, still careful, but not as scared as before. Keeping an ear out for any suspicious sound, he crept closer and closer. The sky was already dark, and the only light was provided by the moon and his stars.
One of the plastic bags suddenly rustled, startling Aziraphale who crouched a little and out of instinct he called out “(Y/N)?” A pair of eyes looked at him from the darkness, eyes that definitely were not (Y/N)’s. “What is a pet like you doing here, by the dumpsters?” the stranger croaked out, never actually showing his face. “Sorry, I’m waiting on a friend.” The dumpster cat only hummed in response, it’s eyes disappearing in the darkness.
“Aziraphale!” the said cat turned his head to the entrance of the alleyway, to see his beloved friend calling out to him. The two ran towards each other, meeting in the middle. After they shared a warm welcome, (Y/N) began to lead the way. He didn’t want to tell Aziraphale where he was taking him, as it would ruin the surprise, he said, but he did assure him it wasn’t far.
They made their way out of the alleyway and down the street. Aziraphale saw the front of the house he shared with his humans and as they passed all the neighbours’ houses, (Y/N) excitedly told him about each and every one. “They gave me food at this one! And at that one there, they had the audacity to call me dirty! I groom myself every day, thank you very much! And don’t ever go there, they have a big dog! The people over there have a dog too, but it actually likes cats, I’ll introduce you one day. And my friend over there actually had kittens not too long ago! She’s a bit overprotective right now, so I’ll hope it’ll pass soon.”
Houses became less and less frequent until there was just the road, not even a sidewalk to walk on. It was surrounded by meadows and was that a forest in the distance? As the houses disappeared, (Y/N) got quiet, not having anything to say. They continued to walk for a while longer, a pleasant silence in the air.
Suddenly, (Y/N) stopped. He gestured with his head towards one of the meadows and slowly disappeared into the tall grass, Aziraphale hot on his heals. “Will you please tell me what this all is about? I don’t want to catch any ticks.” Aziraphale stressed. (Y/N) stopped again “Alright, we should be far enough.” and plopped on his back on the ground and looked expectantly at his friend. Aziraphale begrudgingly did the same. “And now just wait.” (Y/N) told him quietly.
And wait they did. At first, nothing happened. But the longer Aziraphale looked at the night sky, the more he noticed some of the stars...moved? And then some of them even stopped shining?? What was happening?! He voiced his concerns to (Y/N), to which he only laughed “Those aren’t stars.” he told him softly. “How do they disappear so quickly?” Aziraphale wondered. (Y/N) chuckled “Those are bugs. And they’re still there, their butts just stop shining.” After sharing a laugh at how ridiculous it must be to have a shining butt, Aziraphale attempted to catch one of the strange shinies. He tried and tried and failed and failed, while (Y/N) just watched lovingly how much fun he was having, silently praising himself for such a great idea.
After about a half an hour of running around, chasing bugs, Aziraphale plopped on the ground next to (Y/N) and continued to just watch them shine around. But (Y/N) couldn’t take his eyes off Aziraphale and how angelic he looked under all the fireflies. Aziraphale, sensing someone staring at him, turned to look at (Y/N). They stayed like that for a while, just enjoying the view, slowly blinking at each other. It was the most intimate moment in Aziraphale’s and possibly even (Y/N)’s life.
Eventually, they had to return. The walk back was for some reason much longer than the walk to the meadow. They both jumped over the fence to Aziraphale’s garden and (Y/N) pressed his snout Aziraphale’s head and the other closed his eyes in pure bliss. When (Y/N) turned to go back, Aziraphale meekly asked “Can you stay?” to which (Y/N) replied “I would love to.”
And that was the second of many nights that Aziraphale spent outside. Soon, (Y/N) got the confidence to visit his boyfriend at day too, until he never left one day.
Hey, Sweeney Todd requester here!! Thank you so much for writing my suggestion, it turned out great and I really enjoyed it!!
Oh, I'm so glad to hear that! I haven't seen the movie in a long time, so I was worried I'd write him out of character and I'm super relieved you liked it! Your request inspired me so much, don't be shy to request something again if you'd like!

simply beautiful
flew higher than Icarus
Held the sun in my hands
Now I lay in a funeral pyre
ashes dance across my palms
as I travel through holy lands
The sun's rays were to great
my feet were to slow
the pyro begs for more
but I am already aflame

No justice, no peace. Black lives matter.
