guardians of the galaxy: awesome mix vol. 1

Happy yondad day!

It was a huge oversight, to let Kraglin go planet side for a hefty solo mission. He forgot he had assigned Tullk and Oblo on a scouting mission just a few cycles ago, and in doing so managed to lost all of the “Quill-sitters” for at least one full cycle. The boy usually slept with Kraglin; he’s the only one Yondu trust to not make true the threat to eat the boy or damage him out of curiosity. Nobody has encountered a Terran before; they are a rarity that is often perused with the same interest as one would an exotic bug in a jar. And to make matters worse, the central temperature system has gone berserk again and the Eclector is fluctuating between bouts of subzero temperature and sweltering heat. Currently it is on the warmer side and Yondu has reluctantly shucked his coat. Even Quill has taken his boots off and tucked his noisy machine away, and is currently curled around the cool metal floor playing quietly with the trinkets from his bag and from Yondu’s dashboard. Yondu feels a rare moment of comfortable drowsiness, for the temperature has risen to a lazy bubble and Quill is too focused on his toys to annoy Yondu for once. His eyes feel sandy and heavy. He gazed at Quill languidly again. Maybe just this once, he’ll take a nap. Ignoring the flashing data pads hovering in front of his face (if not for the formidable Chief Engineer prowling the repairs table he would have put an arrow through those floating nuisances a long time ago) he let his eyes fall shut. There’s no need to worry about Quill being eaten or experimented on; after all, who would approach the lamb sitting literally at the lion’s feet?
