HEADCANNON: his father died during a gang fight and the house was passed to axel. axel, the days after the funeral, was working 6 part-time jobs just to keep up paying rent and having food on his plate.

there was a devastating fire that spread to multiple homes, and one of them belongs to axel.

axel, luckily, put all of his father's valuables that he gave to him in a fire and waterproof box to avoid it being damaged, for it was the last remnants of his father.

benatar noticed the news and insisted to let axel live on their land, for he doesn't want axel to struggle on the streets. axel declined for a while until succumbing to benatar's kind heart.
