Hi Euna, hope you're doing well! I had a question regarding JK's response "그럼요", which translates to 'of course', to the ig comment asking to kidnap JM. I saw many k-kookminers react to this with vids of JK boxing & such, it gave me the implication that perhaps JK responded in sort of a challenging/sarcastic way? I had also looked up the phrase & found that "그럼요" could either mean 'of course' or 'of course not' depending on the question asked. I was wondering if you could explain this more?

There's a lot of different ways to express the affirmative, "of course" meaning in Korean (그럼요, 당연하죠, 물론이죠, etc). They each mean similar things, but the tone/force that they give off are all slightly different. Out of those, 그럼요 comes across as having a more relaxed (the word I want to use here is "여유로운") tone. Which is why it lends itself to a more sarcastic, jokey feeling and why a lot of k-kookminers interpreted it as a challenging — "Sure you can take him. If you can get through me" — kind of way.

Overall, I feel like tone is one of the biggest things that gets lost with translation. While 'of course' is the correct translation, it inevitably falls a bit short of conveying the nuances of how 그럼요 can come across and be received. This kind of gap makes it possible for there to be misunderstandings, but I hope that it's abundantly clear that in this situation, JK was giving faux permission to a fan in an obviously joking manner.

I kind of agree with anon about Taekook being pretty much irrelevant when it comes to so called threats compared other pairings in BTS. Although, frankly speaking, none of the bonds between any of the members should be considered a threat to Jungkook and Jimin’s relationship because it’s not like anyone’s looking to take one of their place in the other’s affections. That’s just silly. Jungkook and Jimin have consistently demonstrated a closeness that is pretty much incomparable even within the already uncommonly close group. What is there really to be threatened by? And even if Jimin or Jungkook suddenly grew close to someone else, why should that necessarily affect their relationship with each other?

That said, I do think Jimin and Hoseok have considerable chemistry and there is clear mutual admiration and affection there. They’re probably the only duo other than Jikook who sometimes give me that third wheeling feeling as a viewer. If I was into real person shipping, I might be a jihope shipper. 😂 Realizing this about myself actually kind of strengthened my conviction regarding Jimin and Jungkook being a couple. You see, sometimes I worry about just seeing what I want to see and having everything that seems to support that be confirmation bias. The fact that Jihope appeals to me makes me think that, if I really was just being delulu, wouldn’t I also think jihope might be real in the romantic couple sense? And I don’t, no matter how adorable or hot I find them.

Like, yeah I get that both Jimin and Hobi are insanely hot sexy and confident performers so it's natural that they tend to have this chemistry when on stage. Actually, It shows how much they trust each other, how close they are. Not to mention that they both are extremely touchy men and everything but damn sometimes they make me go all blushy. I always try to be impartial and unbiased, with jikook even more so as genuine belief in something unconfirmed tend to lead to delusion but it's hard to ignore that jihope have that weird atmosphere around them sometimes

Personally, I don't see it. For me Jimin likes to flirt so to speak with Hobi because he knows Hobi will be surprised, Hobi almost always ends up with an expression saying 'what the hell are you doing Jimin...'. They are pretty touchy but the vibe I've always seen is from a platonic point of view.

Jimin and Hobi know each other very well, they spent years sharing a room, so I think there's an extra level of trust and comfort between them and Jungkook as well in fact. I think that's why we've heard stories of the three of them spending some of their free time together.

I honestly love this aspect of Jimin so much.

He's also mentioned a lot of times that he hates lies and liars and he doesn't lie. Everything is coherent about who he is, tbh. I personally have never been one to believe he leaves a lot of room for misunderstanding about who he is and what he stands for.

And I think about a behind the scenes clip while they're filming the dynamite performance for the VMAs 2020 and he's play fighting JK and telling him "why would you lie". Also his birthday live when he called out JK when he said that his gift was on a boat over there and then with the cake 🤣 it's small things, but yeah. Here is my thing, I personally don't *really* see it, but i can see how people are seeing it. It's grainy and not super clear because of how zoomed it is as well. Its not like tongue to ear would be NEW for jikook

But also it looks like JK was just being a little silly and either said only a word or two that required little mouth movement, which is then sort of what we are seeing or a glimpse of his teeth people are thinking is his tongue, or it also looks like he could have just gotten really close and didn't say anything or just breathed on him. Lol I'm leaning more towards the very first one. But whatever it was, it clearly made Jimin laugh super hard 😂
