Random jobs I feel these writers would have if they were around today (based off of vibes-):
William Shakespeare: Relationship counselor or a therapist of some sort. I feel like he’d be a very chill guy you can just talk to and he’d know exactly what to say. He’d probably give the best life advice about continuing on when life gets rough and stuff.
Emily Dickinson: High school biology teacher. I dunno she just gives me earthy-science-quaint-aesthetic teacher vibes. She’d bring her students chips every Friday as a reward for making it through the week for sure.
Oscar Wilde: Fashion designer. He’d probably be that guy in the coffee shop with the really pretty sunglasses and a big coat who watches people go by and takes inspiration from their outfits. He’d carry a small sketch pad with him that has predawn body bases to draw outfits on. He’d probably spend his nights sewing random patterns together.
Edgar Allan Poe: College mathematics professor. He’d probably be that quiet, tired, old professor who is actually super chill. He’d spend his nights trying to work out complex math problems, forget to sleep, and only have coffee for breakfast the next morning. He’d be that teacher that puts movies on in class when he can’t be bothered to teach because he’s too tired.
Charles Dickens: Actor. I dunno, something about him gives me actor vibes. But he’d probably be a small actor, one who acts for small plays or as an unnamed extra in a movie who only has a couple lines of dialogue.
Bram Stoker: Mechanic or handyman. He’d be that guy that can fix anything. You got a flat tire? Call Bram. Your door came off its hinges? Call Bram. Your window cracked? Call Bram. He’d probably always carry a utility knife with him clipped to his belt, even when he’s not working.
(Another random thing I came up with 💀💀 I don’t know why I do these. I think they’re fun though, to think about what writers would be like today if they were around and stuff. Of course none of this stuff is like, historically accurate at all so don’t take it as if it is. It’s just for fun 👍)
It’s beautiful that when some ppl write smut based on classic literature they aplogise to the writer in the tags, but “I hope that Oscar Wilde approves” tag is totally legit
Dorian Gray. Dorian Slay. Dorian Gay. Dorian Yay. Dorian Decay. Dorian Okay.
