If You Had To Choose: Barchie Or Rory/Logan?!

If you had to choose: Barchie or Rory/Logan?!

Oh that's not even a competition, Rogan! I love Barchie but I didn't even finish watching their show, lol. I've only seen clips of when they're together. Barchie is also like the fulfillment of a childhood ship from the comics.

Rogan do have the advantage in that as many problems as I have with Gilmore Girls, it's a much better show than Riverdale. But as much as I love childhood friends to lovers, there's something about someone coming into your life and changing the way you interact with the world. Logan and Rory do start as friends. They have fun together as friends too. They were pretty clearly interested in each other romantically but I think it's important to remember that Logan felt that Rory's friendship was so important to him he didn't want to alter it because he didn't want it to be like all the other girls he was with before her. Logan gets Rory out of her comfort zone but Rory did the same for Logan.

I think Logan helped a lot with Rory's confidence and her going out to get things she wants when he asked her to jump with him. Before him Lorelai almost always had to talk Rory into doing new things: going to the Chilton dance, signing up for the Chilton speech, opening her door at Yale for the party. Logan asked Rory to jump with him and after that she started making bolder decisions on her own. Granted, they weren't always great decisions and she definitely crashed and burned sometimes, but I think he helped her grow so much as a person. Logan doesn't have as much screen time without Rory but we know he took big risks for her too. He'd never been in a serious relationship before but he wanted to try because he cared that much about her. Of course fails at times but you really know he's trying his best. Also I love that he tries so hard with Lorelai, that says so much about him to me.

Part of what I didn't like about the revival is that they removed that aspect of their relationship. They reduced it to just wacky adventures and illicit affairs. I do like that there was still the sense of friendship and support, but they stagnated the part where they stepped outside of their comfort zone for each other and helped each other grow.

At the moment, I'm in my deep dive into Gilmore Girls Universe. I watched it for the first time when I was 12 or 14, and I remember somehow only the first 4 seasons and not that precisely.

So now I'm 32 and on my full rewatch of the show. I need to say I remember GG pretty differently. And lots of characters hit differently, too.

So i checked reddit today, and there was a discussion about Logan's proposal, i have got some thoughts about it.

I think it was not fair of Logan to ask Rory to marry him. He wanted her to compromise smth, but he himself was not ready to compromise his own career and job opportunity. They both were not ready to compromise their own career possibilities for relationships. And I think it was the right choice for them at that period of life. And it's actually a very realistic thing. That's how I broke up with my ex.

Though, let's get back to season 7.

I don't understand why Logan even proposed. Why did he come up with such an idea when a few episodes earlier, and im rewatching that scene now, he told Rory to make her own career choices based on what she wanted in first place and without factoring him, as he saw her pro/con list with word Logan???. And he litetally told her "i dont want you to factor me in". then Rory said that actually she wanted to factor him in, and then Logan said he also would like to factor her in, but he is still unsure with his own ideas about his future.

So primarily, he wanted Rory to follow what was best for her on her own terms and only then think of him.

So then why did he change his mind? Why jump in with a proposal? Is it because he figured out his job for the next few years and she didn't? That's why he thought it would make sense for her to follow him cause she had no job proposals at that moment? Did he actually think about married life and what Rory wanted or it was just rebellious impulse? Why did he think it was a good idea to propose? These all these questions we should ask in the first place....

Yes,i think he needs to mature and grow up as a person on his own, meaning without his parents and Rory in his life for some time. He did a lot of bad things. But I see a potential in him to get better. I don't see him as the bad guy. I'm actually team Logan πŸ˜ƒ (yet I love Jess too!)

He has the potential to become a great personality who, in later years, can be a great partner to Rory. It would make sense for Logan and Rory to get together again, but after some years apart. I do believe their separation is crucial for them to grow as personalities.
