I know that it's a controversial pairing. I personally don't have any real issues with it, but I know that others would because of her age during the events of the original manga. Obviously, Rin was just a child back then, and although they would have certainly waited for her to be an adult before establishing any form of romantic relationship, just the fact that Sesshomaru was essentially a father figure to her at one point would be enough to put people off.

As for me, Rin was obviously portrayed as being Sesshomaru’s closest female bond, and precocious crushes are a rather common trope in anime, so I guess it always just kinda made sense for me that her feelings would eventually bear fruit, because I've seen it before.
