You ever read a fic and you’re just so blown away and think “wow…this character is me…”? That’s what Love Bytes by @stutterfly is for me. I instantly related to her Y/N because I’m also shy and awkward in large groups, haven’t been on many dates, still trying to figure out wtf I’m doing on dating apps (although her Y/N is a hell of a lot braver than I am because I refuse to even touch Tinder 🤣), is an absolute nerd (save for the actual knowing computers stuff LOL). And that’s not even getting into the beautiful and immersive writing. And the amazing friendships throughout the series, especially between Namjoon and Y/N as they discover their deeper feeling for each other. And the SMUT. MY GOD. 😧 I tried to reblog the series but I’m a little too Tumblr illiterate to figure out how to do that without the entire dang chapter being posted (I thought it would cut off after the first couple of paragraphs with the “read more” thing link, Tumblr had other ideas…), so here’s a link to chapter 1 for anyone who actually visits my little corner of the internet. I’ve read it at least 2 or 3 times, still get charmed every time. I’m also really enjoying her story Swipe Right, which is also set in the same universe, but with Jungkook as the lead instead of Namjoon. But that is a fic rec for another day.

Believe it or not, you don’t have to give up loving BTS, watching cartoons, or playing Pokemon the second you become an adult. I’m in my 30s - my living room is decorated with comics and video game decor. I have a Disney/Pixar themed kitchen. I arrange my work schedule around live-streamed BTS concerts and performances (as best as I can), my mini Army Bomb keychain is on my work bag, I have an RJ luggage tag, I have my Bring The Soul photo cards hanging in a special frame on my bedroom wall. It makes me happy. If you think it’s fine for guys to have entire basements or rooms dedicated to sports and alcohol or take time off for hunting season, but think someone displaying their photo cards or using cute Line Friends items is “weird” and “only for teenage girls”, I have some words about hobbies and interests for you.
