This was me too! My older sister was Team NSYNC, my twin sister was Team BSB, meanwhile I basically listened to *everyone* - BSB, NSYNC, 98°, O-Town….I just really love boy bands okay? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I will say that the recent Netflix docu-series “This Is Pop” has gotten me back into deep diving into Boyz II Men’s discography and their songs STILL slay 20-30 years later ❤️

ooof, that was such a beef back in the day 🤣🤣 but i refused to partake. i listened to both 💅🏾 listening to the no strings attached album as i type this LOL

I can’t believe I haven’t reblogged/recommended this brilliant story on here yet - I literally scrolled through my entire tumblr page trying to find my post about it…only to realize I had literally sent it to all of my discord friends but somehow forgot about this site 😅😅 Whoops!

But my god, what Shanna does so well is world building and believability of her characters. I relate so hard to OC’s feelings of being the “family disappointment” and just falling so hard from what should have been a fairy tale come true because, well…that’s me. I moved away from my family to a big city to follow my dreams of working in theatre (backstage costuming/costume design, not performing). And yet 7 years later I’m still bombarded with job rejection emails, haven’t had a theatre gig since 2016, still working the “part time” retail job that was only supposed to tide me over between shows, desperately trying to be someone my family can be proud of. So reading this story, with those very real feelings she has, really hit home for me.

And it was very real how Hoseok and OC fell out of their friendship. And how communication is key, y’all! It’s very easy for a writer to be like “oh, my protagonist is always right! The other person is wrong! They must apologize!” It’s harder for a writer to have their lead, the voice of their story, realize that he or she was actually wrong, to have to re-evaluate their choices. And that’s what makes this story so special - OC being so blinded by her dreams, her seemingly perfect relationship in her new life that she pushed away anything and anyone that would shatter that belief. I loved seeing them develop their friendship again and then their underlying feelings of MORE. Also loved the deep friendship shown through their entire friend group - it makes me wish I had a group of friends to have a cookie baking contest with for the holidays!

Also goddamn the smut was just top notch. Damn. 🥵

So yeah…long story short, this is a wonderful story about how life can be messy and not what you always dreamed of, but it’s worth it to find the little things that make it worthwhile

Heeeeyyy guess who finally learned how to reblog fics on this hellsite since the last time I recommended a fic by this author! 🤣🤣 All kidding aside, I have a confession to make - dating sims games are kind of my guilty pleasure…so when she not only started a new series in this already captivating universe, but DIRECTLY referenced dating sims in the summary?? Oh my god I was on cloud 9 LOL

I love that initial connection Y/N and Jungkook had at the beginning, when they bonded over Mass Effect and video games. It was so cute, and you can totally see how she would fall for him so quickly. You can also see how she fits into the group, how the dynamic isn’t shoehorned in to make it make sense. I love the friendship they all have, and it was so sweet seeing it all build and come together….which makes the scene at the Halloween party when the curtain falls and we see his “true colors” all the more heartbreaking. You feel the panic and the shame Y/N feels when she finds out Jungkook was a fuckboy who was playing with her feelings the whole time, and it makes you look back at all their interactions in a new light. And I actually really love the pacing of the story too - she doesn’t get over it in a few days, or even weeks. It takes MONTHS for her to gain some sort of trust again, which feels more realistic to me. And how you get a perspective from Jungkook of why he’s the way he is - it doesn’t excuse his behavior, but it explains a few things. And how he slowly realizes just how unfair and harmful he has been. I love how this series is growing and building, and I can’t wait to see where it goes!

I’m pretty excited to write the next scene in my story because it’s the climatic, romance portion! It’s what all the feelings and whatnot have been leading toward, and after that there is only 1 more scene left in the ENTIRE fic!
