Hi Babe Could I Please Request A Drabble About Poe Seeing Reader With Her Hair Down For The First Time

You shiver as you make your way outside, your breath crystalizing in the air. The tips of your exposed ears turn red with the cold. Rey sneezes. She, like you, is from a desert planet - any form of cold makes you both miserable. A chill wind scrapes along the back of your neck as you trudge through too many inches of snow alongside Rey, Finn, and Poe. Poe, similarly to you and Rey, was from a warmer planet, but he’d been on base long enough to get accustomed to the freezing winters. He chuckles as a constant stream of complaints pours from your mouth.

“My ears are freezing,” you groan, and Rey nods her agreement. Finn rolls his eyes, shaking his hooded head.

“That’s because your hair’s up,” he laughs. “You, like, never take it down. Might wanna change that.”

“I guess you’re right,” you say, laughing softly as you lift your hands to the crown of your head and work on undoing the bun sitting atop it. You shake your head, massaging your scalp with your pinkened fingertips as your hair falls down around your shoulders. It cloaks your ears and neck from the brittle winds and subzero temperatures. You sigh with relief, and Finn shakes his head, clapping you on the shoulder as he jogs to catch up with Rey at the front of your procession.

“Hey, Y/N?” Poe says, nose buried in his datapad. You turn your head towards him. He glances up and promptly freezes. “Uh, I-” You raise a brow, confused.

“What?” you say, glancing behind you.

“Nothing, nothing,” he says a bit too quickly. You could’ve sworn his cheeks were bright red. From the cold, obviously. Obviously. “Could you check this over? You’re much better with this stuff than I am.” He gestures at his datapad, and you walk over, leaning down a bit to get a closer look at the document he’s drafting. Your eyes skim over the paragraphs, and he uses the opportunity to take you in.

You look...different. Good different, of course. Really, really good. Beautiful.

“Looks good overall,” you say, nodding. You point with your little finger to the third sentence of the first paragraph. “I’d switch that wording up a bit, it seems a little too formal.”

“Thanks,” he says, and you smile warmly at him. His heart threatens to explode right out of his chest.

“No problem!” you say cheerfully, and run to catch up with Finn and Rey by the Falcon. He follows suit, trekking faster through the fine white powder littering the ground. He pauses just outside the on-ramp. Finn notices and makes his way over, concerned.

“Hey, you alright?” he asks, and Poe’s head snaps up.

“Yeah, I just- I just got a bit flustered.”

“What do you mean?”

“Nothing, forget about it.” He bites his bottom lip, following his friend back into the ship.

Gods.

Amarjeet Kaur Johal was a 66-year-old mother, grandmother and member of the Indianapolis' Sikh community. Amarjit Sekhon, 48

Amarjit Sekhon, a mother of two sons, was the breadwinner of her family who immigrated to the US in 2004. Her brother-in-law, Kuldip Sekhon, told the Associated Press she began working at the FedEx facility in November -- after previously working at a bakery -- and was a dedicated worker whose husband was disabled. "She was a workaholic, she always was working, working," he said. "She would never sit still ... the other day she had the (COVID-19) shot and she was really sick, but she still went to work."

Jasvinder Kaur, 50

Kaur had two children -- a daughter and a son, said Rimpi Girn, her daughter's brother-in-law. She immigrated to the US in 2018 and was the main breadwinner for the family. She sent money earned from her job at FedEx to her son living in India as financial support. Sekhon and Kaur went to work together every day, working the same night shift, Girn said. "They didn't want to work night shift anymore, they wanted to work day shift."

Jaswinder Singh, 68

The 68-year-old Indian immigrant decided to take a job at the FedEx facility because he was bored at home and the employer was popular among Punjabi immigrants. Relatives said Singh left the Indian state of Punjab, where the Sikh community is concentrated, about eight years ago to reunite with relatives living in the United States. Jatinder Singh, one of Singh’s two sons, told the Indian news outlet Republic World that the family hopes to return him to India for funeral rites but face complications because of the pandemic.

She was a straight-A student who graduated from high school last year and her parents described their daughter as "tenacious in everything she did."

Karli Smith, 19

Karli Smith graduated in 2020 from George Washington High School, where she was remembered as "a hardworking and dedicated student," according to a statement from Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS). "Administrators, teachers and classmates remember Karli for her sense of humor that often generated smiles and laughter. Karli was a bright light wherever she went. She will be dearly missed by all throughout IPS who knew and loved her," the statement said.

John Weisert, 74

John Weisert was a retired engineer and was working at the FedEx facility to make some extra money, his wife told CNN affiliate WTHR on Friday, while she waited for news about her husband. "He's just a package handler, a retired professional engineer, but after retirement he wanted to keep working. We had some things we needed to pay off, so he took this job," Weisert told WTHR. The couple was set to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in the fall.

Honoring The Lives Lost In The Indianapolis Shooting

Matthew Alexander, 32

Those who knew Matthew Alexander described the 32-year-old as a huge baseball fan and a trustworthy, reliable and kind friend, WTHR reported. Family and friends gathered at Avon High School's baseball field Saturday to honor the former player before his father threw the opening pitch. "I didn't do near as well as he did in the day, but I was there and I knew he was looking down saying thank you dad."

prompts list :)

fluff/general

“how much did you drink?”

“aw, you’re so cute.”

“what did you do?”

“i asked if you were having a party. i didn’t tell you to have a party.”

“this is the opposite of what i told you to do.”

“well, it’s the thought that counts.”

“wait, no, don’t take kissing away from me.”

“okay, where are all my jumpers?”

“oh, you’ve started stealing my socks now?”

“yeah, okay, but i’m cooler.”

“you owe me a kiss.”

“how did you get in here?”

“for starters, that’s impossible.”

“how did you fail a survey?”

“yeah, well, if you weren’t so drunk maybe i would.”

“that’s not even fair.”

“you promised me a cookie!”

“did i ever tell you how beautiful your eyes are?”

“ew, that is so sappy, i might vomit.”

“i’m not playing truth or dare.”

“you’re not very intimidating.”

“i love you.”

“well the probability of that is 0, but you go ahead.”

“that was, by far, the stupidest thing you’ve ever done.”

“why don’t you take a picture? it’ll last longer.”

“maybe not.”

“why the hell is there glitter everywhere?”

“well, i’m pretty irresistible.”

“how much money would you give me to flip this table, right here, right now, in the middle of class?”

“detention? again?”

angst

“why don’t you just go?”

“no, it’s not like that.”

“if you cared about me, you wouldn’t do this.”

“it doesn’t matter anymore.”

“what’s the point?”

“fuck you.”

“you should’ve said that yesterday.”

“don’t lie to me.”

“i swear, if you say another word, i’ll leave.”

“change in mind or change in heart?”

“it’s over, it’s done, just leave it be.”

“why do you keep bringing it up?”

“we can’t go back in time, so stop trying to reverse what you said.”

“you say you’ll stop, but then you keep doing it!”

“maybe in another world.”

“why are you like this?”

“stop making empty promises!”

“what about us?”

“don’t say that.”

“i’m done. we’re done.”’
