Hey so I know there was a bit of controversy over the Feral Boys/Crew Boys name change over on Twitter,

But I’m so mad that no one ever came up with the idea to call them the “Fever Dream Team”

Like bro… it fits so well especially since they have the whole Dream Team in it, and every stream with them feels like a fever dream.

I'm very late to the c!wilbur conversation but I think I like to look at 'phil said c!wilbur entertained himself as a kid by building things and then wrecking them' as 'c!wilbur already had perfectionist tendencies and was too hard on himself as a kid so he always ended up tearing down his creations and trying again in the hope that he'd get it right this time, and c!phil, who tried as a father but was really a bit distant, never realized that this might be a sign that his son was struggling and instead just assumed he enjoyed the destruction itself'

As much as this analysis is possible and heart-wrenching I don’t actually believe it’s true. Though I 100% agree that c!Techno saw the “betrayals” coming, I’d just argue that not only was he expecting them, he wanted them! Actually this isn’t even an argument, this is a canon fact. Here’s the clips. And here. Both of these are from his first two days on the server. These are his character’s earliest established character goals; Have the most amount of people to fight. And despite all the “Government” and “Betrayals” he has 100% kept to that goal in every conflict he’s been in. Always somehow ending up on the Underdog team(team with the least amount of players). And I definitely believe that he has been hurt by these(C!Tommy leaving specifically) but I would not consider him Naive or say that he was ignoring it. Quite the opposite.

An interesting idea would be if halfway through Pogtopia, c!Techno realized that he actually really liked c!Wilbur and c!Tommy. That he was actually happy with them. But he had already committed to fighting them killing them and so when he finally gets to the 16th and the whole hot potato president thing happens, and he thinks… well I’ve committed to this right…? But then he has an idea. He yells at c!Tommy about government and corruption and Theseus and makes them out to be the bad guys, hungry for power. Because if c!Tommy knew why he really joined the server… well he’d never forgive him(or so Techno reasons). But if c!Tommy thought he was in the wrong. If he ever started to believe that what c!Techno said was right… then maybe, just maybe… he’d come back. And c!Techno would be absolved and forgiven.

The second paragraph is just a headcannon, but I think the idea of c!Techno as a more self-centered character is really cool and he can still be very sympathetic without automatically making every other character besides him an asshole.

this is unrelated but technos relationship to betrayals has always been very interesting to me. it always feels like he sees them coming from a mile away, like deep down he knows his core values are completely incompatible with someone elses and yet. he so often puts it aside, tries not to think about it, sticks by them until their differences become impossible to ignore, "we'll burn that bridge when we get to it",

and yet again once the bridge is burnt he seems to lose his composure every time, as if he hadn't in fact seen it coming from a mile away. he takes it as a sudden unexpected betrayal, because maybe it's even hard for him to admit he saw it coming, he knew it would happen, yet he let himself hope it wouldn't.

he's both so cynical yet so naive at the same time. its a really human character choice.

I have more ideas. I just have to know… does Wilbur know that Tommy knows that he is a superhero? Because if they both know… then they could team up together and perhaps get some SBI content up in this AU! But if not, I can see a Miraculous Ladybug type beat where Herobur starts getting close to Tommy to try and protect him on the job, thinking that Tommy has no idea who he is and trying to keep that a secret. But Tommy definitely knows and it becomes a point of contention in the story where they are both trying to protect eachother for different reasons without letting the other know. To a terribly low degree of success…

I have a new AU idea. Again.

Okay, I’ve been reading a superhero fic today and my brain immediately went “how do I make this more angsty?” so what I propose to you is: we mix a superhero AU with the whole idea of immortal Tommy (the version where Dream managed to make the two of them immortals, but Tommy ended up killing him, being stuck as the only immortal alive since only another one can kill him and he’s the only one with the knowledge on how to make more).

So Tommy technically doesn’t develop any superpower, but, you know, being literally immortal probably counts regardless.

Anyway, thousands of years have passed and people have developed special abilities. Tommy wasn’t initially too interested in it until he meets Tubbo. Not original Tubbo of course, that one is long dead, but a reincarnation. This one doesn’t have the traumas from wars and executions and losing his friends and family. He’s just a bright-eyed teen who aspires to be a scientist someday and develop gadgets for the heroes.

At first, Tommy thinks that it’s just a coincidence. He was bound to meet other people named “Tubbo” sooner or later and them looking and sounding similar doesn’t mean much. Then Tubbo introduces him to Ranboo. And then Tommy gets a job at Sam’s tech shop. And Sam is in a relationship with someone named Ponk whose arm hasn’t been ripped off by his boyfriend thankfully (Tommy panicked when seeing their prosthetic arm, but it turns out they just lost it in a car accident). And then he starts paying attention to the news and notices that the 3 top heroes are definitely Wilbur, Phil, and Techno. Same stuck-up attitudes and poor fashion choices. Also, the guy in the boar mask really appears to never have gotten the memo about how the monologuing part is supposed to be a villain thing.

And with all these new discoveries Tommy really can’t ignore the very real possibility of Dream being back. Alive. Possibly ready to traumatize more people. (Tommy has healed pretty well by now, but he is still stuck with the f*cking immortality curse that Dream put on him. A parting gift he can never forget).

So Big Man’s plan is to find Dream and kill him. Simple as that.

Everyone else is pretty similar in personality to how they used to be, minus the trauma for most of them, so he doesn’t doubt that the same is true for Dream if he’s back.

And he isn’t entirely wrong. But also, Dream is not as unhinged as he used to be? Still an asshole. Still definitely starts stalking Tommy as soon as he takes notice of him. But without ever having had complete power over the city and without the incentive of the book he hasn’t cut all his attachments off and shit. He hasn’t gone full c!Dream mode. He’s a chaotic asshole, but he hasn’t necessarily hurt anyone. (Basically season 1 Dream, but without the mass slaughter he organized)

So just fricking moral dilemma of: do I wait for him to snap before I kill him and risk a ton of people getting hurt or kill him now and risk killing someone who would never even have gone off the rails in the first place?

There’s a bit of extra stuff under the cut because this was getting long…
