“Hey Kakashi? Are you okay...” you said quietly as you approached him. Kakashi and you had been friends for quite sometime. When he felt lonely he would often come through your window and sit on your bed listening you talk about nothing for hours on end. However, for the last few days you noticed you hadn’t heard anything from him and you were beginning to worry. You knew that his mind was often a dark place and that he sometimes needed help coming out of it.

Kakashi continued staring out over the village. From his spot on the tree you could see the entire village. You knew he came here a lot because he loved how peaceful it looked from there. You cleared your throat and said his name again causing him to whip his head in your direction.

“Oh, Y/N I’m sorry I didn’t see you. “ Kakashi muttered, “I best be going...” and with that he jumped down from his branch and began the path back toward the village. You ran after him trying to close the distance between you two. Going so many days without seeing or hearing from him honestly hurt you.

“Kakashi. Stop! Please...” you shouted and then realized how loud you sounded. His footsteps stopped but he didn’t turn around, instead he balled his fists at his sides and slumped his shoulders. You walked up to him and put your hand on his back rubbing small circles. “Kashi please talk to me. Let me help you through this.”

Kakashi turned to you and stared deep into your eyes. “Y/N you wouldn’t even understand so just leave me alone.” Kakashi grumbled. Tears pricked the corners of your eyes. You grabbed him and pulled him into the tightest hug you’ve ever given. He wasn’t getting off that easy.

“Kashi. I love you. I know that you don’t like hearing it, but you are so much more to me than just a ninja. You’re my whole world...” you trailed off as a single tear slipped down your cheeks. Kakashi pulled back from you and wiped the tear with a stroke of his thumb. Your breath hitched at the feeling of his hand on your face. You felt that warm feeling in your heart again, the one you felt when you and Kakashi would be laying in your bed whispering about life hoping that your parents wouldn’t catch you.

Your eyes closed instinctively savoring the closeness that you were granted. You opened your eyes to see Kakashi looking at you. He began to stroke your cheek again making your heart skip a beat. “Kashi...” you whispered breathlessly beginning to feel the nervousness of being around your crush.

You turned your head away from him hoping that he wouldn’t notice the blush. You felt his fingers grab your chin and force you to look at him. Then carefully, as if you were porcelain, Kakashi leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to your lips. When he pulled back from you he began to chuckle at the shocked look on your face.

You were quiet which scared the hell out of Kakashi. What if you didn’t feel the same way? As he opened his mouth to apologize you fisted the front of his shirt and pulled him into a deeper kiss. Now it was his turn for blushing.

After what seemed like hours Kakashi finally spoke. “Y/N, I love you too. So much that it scares me most of the time. I’ve never had anything like you in my life.” Your eyes softened at his confession. You wound your arms around his abdomen giving him another hug. You turned your head so that you could hear his heart beating. He reached his hand slowly toward your head and began to rub your hair.

It was your first kiss and little did you know, despite how cool he is, it was Kakashi’s too.
