Alex lays his head down on Henry’s shoulder as they listen to June play the guitar. The night is warm, the breeze off the lake tickling across Henry’s skin. He looks down at Alex beside him on the porch swing, completely in love —and this time not trying to deny it.

Eyes closed, Alex hums along with the song, a small smile on his face. Henry brushes the curls away from his forehead, pressing a kiss to his head.

Alex curls in tighter against him, putting his legs across Henry’s lap. He turns his head and presses a long, tender kiss to Henry’s neck, just above his collar.

Henry leans into it, feeling a ridiculous smile crossing his face. It’s been five years that they’ve been together and he still can’t believe how much he loves Alex, how much Alex loves him right back. He runs his fingers through Alex’s hair as Alex tugs him closer by his shirt.

“C’mere,” Alex breathes. He presses his lips to Henry’s, his hand cupping his cheek. Their kiss is slow, soft, and perfect.

With his forehead against Alex’s, Henry whispers, “I love you so much.”

“I love you, too.”

The music plays on behind them, but they’re in their own little bubble full of contentment, love, and the knowledge that nights like this are precious.
