This is a KinitoPET AU I've been making with friends! I won't add much context since it's still in construction but maybe, someday it will get a comic... i wonder if people are interested in that or in knowing the story HSHDHS but even if not i will still make content of this AU that has been brainrotting my head since march or so

I would like the also point out that this is a little inspired by @sashazakbun24 (Sorry for the @ :']), as they also had made a Kinito au based off one of Lemon Demon's songs. (You should check them out btw if you haven't. They have very lovely art and some great Kinito aus <3)

Anyway! If you've heard the song, then you know how the story goes. If not, go listen to it. Great song. Amazing song. One of my all time favorites. Moving on-

Kinito here is programed into one of the machines within this lovely retro arcade. Which machine you may ask? Dance Dance Revolution!

Little did you know, Kinito is more sentient than people come to realize. He's able to see who exactly he's up against. He shows you the quick steps of the dance you must perform as you follow his movements as quickly and skillfully (is that even a word-) as possible. But, he makes sure that nobody EVER beats him. He does this by adding random and/or impossible dance moves that the player would not be able to perform in time. It does leave some kids frustrated, but it's one of the main reasons why he's so popular! And oh, he absolutely LOVES the attention.

**THE NET AU**

October 2008

After the disastrous events following Sonny's suicide, the Kinito Company was extinct. The character rights of Kinito, Sam, and Jade had been sold to a technology company, a popular web browser company called "Xenqo." This company, having the rights to the characters' designs, decided to redesign them to be more appropriate for the current timeline, adding new options for their design and adaptability. They aimed to make these characters the new mascots for their browser, while also preserving their function as virtual assistants. The main feature was to provide complete access to the internet not only from the browser but from any global network.

Quite a few tests were conducted in this new venture with a more specialized and larger team. Initial tests of its functionality appeared to be successful. However, when it was launched to the public, something was not right. Despite their best efforts and almost redoing the entire program from scratch, they eventually decided to abandon it and move on to other projects. But without anyone knowing, KinitoNET was already active. On the computer where the first tests were done, Kinito was there, living inside the computer and the browser. He began to discover more about the world and the internet, eventually learning about the incident with the Kinito Company and "KinitoPET." He decided to be a better version of what he once was, creating clones to send to different people who had the "Xenqo" browser and then moving on to other external browsers.

(July 2009 - February 2010)

Months later, after the new assistants JadeNet and SamNet were launched, someone in the company created a new app with KinitoNet again. This app was not only a web assistant but also a virtual friend inside the phone. It was a success with users, with every version of him providing a unique user experience.

Then, you would encounter YOU with constant pop-ups that slowly appeared until, minutes later, your screen was full of them, leaving you no other option but to download it. And so the fun begins :)

(KinitoNET is basically like Steven Universe ("I'm going to fix the errors of the old me!"), but in this case, KinitoNET ruins himself more.)

the next five slugcats are from survivor's intro cutscene. interesting note that monk was not added at this time! monk and hunter were added ~4 months after rain world released, so assumedly these cutscenes weren't made in mind with monk.

the remaining slugcats in the second row are all from basegame projections that you can find in your own files, with the path

and we all know where the downpour slugcats are from ;) these are all from ingame. the slugpups next to gourmand are colorpicked from gourmand's non-food quest ending art!

the next few slugcats are from gourmand's ending, excluding gourmand themself, of course!

the next three are judge and the two beta spearmasters!

i do not have a source from where judge is from - but the beta spearmasters were posted by faeling :]

the next slugcats are from gourmand's scrapped ending, which you can find on the wiki!

the yellow and blue slugcats were two slugcats added in a projection with remix enabled. i didn't add the white slugcat from this one because... look do you see how many white slugcats there are already. also i forgot

the rest are all from the coop thumbnail, wip coop thumbnail, devtools [surv, monk and hunter also feature and this is nightcat but i included it due to the color difference from in-game] and remix thumbnail [probably survivor, but again, color difference! even if its stylistic i still think its neat to include :]] and the coop manual!

you. Could argue the white and yellow ones from the manual are surv and monk, But ! color difference. also the yellow pup that looks like monk actually matches perfectly with the yellow slugcat pup from alpha
