I’ve got the giant spine gap filled with CA and sanded down. Painted the wings grey and masked. Onto the layers of silver to get the bare metal bodywork down.

WIP 65 Ford F100 Custom Cab Styleside from Moebius. I have found that Moebius truck model go together with ease. I may have gone a little overboard with the weathering on this one.
Excellent diorama, and one of my favorite planes.

Finish Stuff Friday.
This is the Hasegaw P-38 “Virginia Marie” kit. I didn’t want the teal color of the original kit, so these are some decals I picked up on ebay.
This was a frustrating kit for sure. Mostly the big seam running down the middle of the nose on each side of the fuselage. Why they couldn’t put the join along the panel lines I just don’t know.
Second, there were no alignment tabs of the propeller blades. This is pretty important on a plane like the P-38 that has opposite rotating props.
Finally, the landing gear bays on the mains would not sit in the nacelles, without leaving a lot of filling and sanding to make it acceptable. So I ended up leaving the sides of the gear bay off completely to get it to seal.
After 30 plus years of being in storage, it still works. Well kinda. I still remember setting it up on the concrete floor in the basement of my childhood home.

The De Tomaso Managusta is my favorite sports car of that period.
