Today I found out the reason chameleons change color isn’t to blend in with their surroundings, but to show that they’re happy/excited. Like if they’re about to mate or fight, their colors will become brighter and more saturated. Now all I can think about is this applying to Githyanki. And I think it works really well because Githyanki are kinda reptilian and every time I’d read a fanfic where Lae’zel blushes it always sounds so weird to me because she’s green and I’m just physically incapable of imagining her blushing. So I really like the idea that maybe she turns a really bright yellow/green and her spots turn red when she’s flustered or happy (or horny).
