idk if you've found your answer already but here is my answer! this only works on desktop or by logging into tumblr on your phone browser, like safari.

im assuming you mean like custom colors. if not, you just double tap or double click your text and either some default colors or a paint bucket will show up.

go to this site, type in whatever you want, then change the color.

next, press "get code." then, press "copy to clipboard."

go back onto your tumblr post editor and click on the settings symbol on the top right. scroll until you find "text editor." click on the drop down menu and select HTML.

now you paste the code that you just copied. to see your text normally, you just switch it back to Rich Text. tumblr says switching back and forth may break formatting, but i do it all the time so it's fine.
