The "best Story In The Game" Got Plot Holes In The Very Beginning And A Sequence Of Bs After A Specific
The "best story in the game" got plot holes in the very beginning and a sequence of bs after a specific chapter.
Kara's story still the least bad story in terms of plot holes. That's unarguable.

defending the "alice is an android" plot twist
i see this plot twist getting a lot of hate, when i loved it myself, and i have a lot of reasons for it so i want to just explain why it didn't ruin her and kara's story at all.
a lot of people say it "was just for shock value" and "useless" but it really wasn't. it's supposed to show how alike the androids are to humans, to the point where you can't even tell them apart. yes there are some clues that she's an android depending on your choices, but most are subtle, so you won't be able to tell.
the hug and distant options towards alice are basically asking the player if they see her any differently now they know she's an android, or if they still see her the same, revolving around the whole point of the game that androids can feel like humans do.
if you chose the distant option, you don't see androids the same as humans, as you see alice differently now because of it. if you chose the hug option, you see androids are the same as humans, thinking they can feel just as we do.
people also bring up they chose the distant option because alice lied to them, and that it was "out of character" for her to do. this is wrong, it is very in character for her to do that and there are many valid reasons.
in chapter 25 midnight train, while rose is out you have the option to talk to alice downstairs, kara asks her "you know what happened back there, don't you?" referring to the android that had died. she then says "you know... but you don't wanna tell me?.. i thought we didn't keep secrets from eachother..." which alice replies to with "if i tell you, you won't love me anymore..." and it ends up being true if you pick the distant option.
alice is a traumatised kid, the abuse and neglect todd put her through clearly affects her throughout the game, she rarely ever smiles, and it definitely affected why she didn't tell kara. she doesn't want to lose the only love she had gotten, she would still do anything for kara and loves her despite lying to her.
anywayy you don't have to like the plot twist, but people saying that it's "just for shock value" etc is completely wrong and i js wanted to explain that as i love both kara and alice!!!!
