I hate society for making me believe that "pretty" is the most important thing a woman can be.

I don't truly think this, however, whenever I see a picture of a woman I immediately look for what makes her pretty, it is the first thing my mind goes to.

I was looking at pictures of Malala and found that I was trying to convince myself that she was beautiful. As if her accomplishments were only as valid as her attractiveness. What does it matter if she is pretty? She is incredible, and the fact that I was focussing on her face angers me.

Someone made a post featuring a later picture of Audrey Hepburn, saying that the media only shows her in her 20's. Someone else shared how while alive, she raised money for the Dutch resistance against the nazis, and in her post-film career was a goodwill ambassador of UNICEF. Yet despite all this, history remembers her as pretty. After reading that, I looked at the picture and thought to myself "even old she was beautiful". WHY WAS THAT MY TAKEAWAY?

How did a woman's prettiness become so important that it overpowers her intelligence, righteousness, and bravery?

Hotch: do you see me as a father figure, Reid?

Reid: no if anything I see you as a bother figure because you’re always bothering me

Emily: it’s not a big deal. I called JJ “mommy” once and she’s my fiancée

Reid: guys, jump on that! Emily has psycho-sexual issues

Morgan: old news. But you calling Hotch “Daddy”

Reid: hey, daddy is not on the table here

Hotch: I believe you, son. Would you like to talk about it over a game of catch?

Reid:

Reid: I’d like that

Want To Fall Asleep In 2 Minutes (or Less)? Steal This Proven Military Sleep Secret

Want to Fall Asleep in 2 Minutes (or Less)? Steal This Proven Military Sleep Secret

“The worst thing in the world is to try to sleep and not to.” — F. Scott Fitzgerald

What Is the Military Sleep Technique

The quick sleep formula has 3 important parts:

Muscle Relaxation

Focussed Breathing

Visualization (Optional But Highly Recommended)

Here Are the Steps Involved:

Free yourself from all the chores and sit on your bed’s edge. Ensure that your bedside light is off and your phone is on DND mode.

Now relax your face. If you haven’t done it before, here’s an easy way — first, tighten your face through a wince, and then let your facial muscles relax naturally. Also, let your tongue drop down in any manner in your mouth.

After relaxing your facial muscles, let gravity pull down your shoulders as if it has no energy of its own. Let your arms hang sideways.

Now, inhale and exhale slowly, focusing on the “swishing” sound of your breath.

You can follow the 4–7–8 breathing method: Count to 4 while taking a deep leisurely inhalation, 7 counts of holding your breath, and exhale through 8 counts.

Allow gravity to soften your thighs and lower legs with each breath.

As your entire body feels energy-less, repeat the phrase “Don’t think, don’t think” as a chant. You can also substitute this chant with any positive affirmation.

Optional but highly recommended: If you’re not good at silencing your mind, visualize yourself sitting at a tranquil place like mountains, beaches, boats, a rocking chair, etc.

Within a few seconds, you’ll drift off to sleep.

Caveat: The effectiveness of this method depends on practice and how well you can silence your mind from the “restless” thoughts of daily activities.

Should You Try Out the Military Sleep Method?

The answer is yes!

If you’re struggling to fall asleep or wake up in the middle of the night and can’t go back to sleep, this method might be for you. It has a 96% success ratio after six weeks of practice.

There are many reasons why you should try out the military sleep method. Here’s why:

I. You’ll Fall Asleep Faster

One of the biggest benefits of the military sleep method is that you’ll fall asleep faster. This is because you’ll be learning how to relax and clear your mind before bed.

II. You’ll Wake Up Feeling More Refreshed

The reason you wake up without zeal and energy is not having a sound sleep.

Since the military sleep method focuses on silencing the mind and relaxing the body, you’ll wake up refreshed in addition to sleeping faster and better.

III. You’ll Be Less Tired During the Day

Tiredness is one of the main reasons why people don’t get enough sleep.

When you use the military sleep method, you’ll be less tired because you will sleep whenever you want during the day. It also means you’ll be more productive and have more energy to do things you enjoy.

IV. You’ll Have Fewer Nightmares

Nightmares are a common problem for people who don’t get enough sleep. When you use the military sleep method, you’ll have a more restful night’s sleep causing fewer nightmares.

V. You’ll Be Less Stressed

Stress is cyclic.

Stress = Sleep Problems = Poor Productivity = Stress

When you use the military sleep method, you’ll be less stressed because it teaches you to relax and fall asleep faster.

No matter what your reason is, learning how to sleep faster can be a huge help when you have less sleep time during exams, project deadlines, business audits, layover flights, social functions, etc.

So, if you’re looking for a way to get more restful sleep, wake up feeling more refreshed, and be less tired during the day, then you should definitely try out the military sleep method.

It’s an easy way to get the sleep you need so that you can feel your best! The best way to determine if this military sleep technique is worth it is to give it a go and experience.

And who knows — maybe you’ll be able to fall asleep in two minutes or less!

“Happiness consists of getting enough sleep. Just that, nothing more.” — Robert A. Heinlein, Starship Troopers

OMGTS IT’S MY TUMBLRVERSARY?

One year ago today I made my first post: Losing My Religion Chapter 1.

So. Here’s what I’ve got to say about this.

First of all, for those of you who have been reading LMR from the beginning, THANK YOU. Thank you for loving it, thank you for your patience as I figure out Din and Little Bird’s next steps. I was so diligent about getting a chapter out every week or so….

…and then Ezra came and stole my focus and I had to tell you about his bookshop.

And in the middle of that, a wine commercial came out that spun me off into some kind of weirdness, and I also got some hot feels for a surly mercenary.

And then I had some very naughty massage thoughts that just kind of kept on going…

…but at the same time fell hard for a soft soft marshmallow man and his sweet tooth who we haven’t even properly met yet.

In short, I am constantly in love.

But not just with the Pedro boys.

In a year here, I have met some amazing friends, writers, artists, creators, readers, and dreamers and fallen in love not only with individuals but also with this community. I have fallen back in love with telling stories and hearing stories. I have fallen into a fandom that follows someone who is kind and authentic and a huge dork and everything that is good about humans. I have found my heart again, and it feels nice.

Y’all make me feel nice.

For a whole year now.

Thank you. <3

nothing will ever be as beautiful to me as an entire theater full of teenagers and grown ass adults shrieking their asses off when andrew garfield appeared on the screen during no way home and then the same theater full of teenagers and grown ass adults shrieking their asses off AGAIN once tobey maguire appeared as if that wasn’t the logical conclusion to andrew’s appearance

the thing I loved the most about no way home was how it showed that andrew garfield and tobey maguire still got it. they still perfectly portray what made their own spiderman so great- garfield and his sarcasm, his enthusiasm, maguire and his awkward charm, seeing the good in everyone.

after all these years they still remind us why we still love their spidermans so much and why they were so important.

How I study /how to study while having mental health issues

1. Don't be so hard on yourself. Set realistic goals. It is important to cheer yourself up even for the slightest progress. Keep in mind that doing one small thing is still better than doing nothing at all. Maybe tomorrow you will be able to do a little more. If you lack energy and don't feel like doing anything, still you have unfinished assignments, try to start, read the whole task, maybe google sources you will use, then, if you feel as if you physically can not do more, save it for tomorrow, or give yourself a few hours to rest.

2. Use your free time wisely. A lot of my free time is wasted on guilt-tripping and I usually go back to my unfinished work rather than give myself time to relax and restore my energy. Always ask yourself "Am I really having a restorative break right now?" Your breaks must give you enough resources to keep progressing.

3. Be more creative with planning. If you are planning the whole list of things you need to do, then consider adding to your schedule an episode of your favorite show, tasty meal, chatting with your close ones, etc. Save some time for your pleasure so you can look forward to doing it.

4. Try the intuitive method of studying. Listen to yourself and your current preferences. Flexible workflow keeps you away from hyperfocus and makes your work more enjoyable. -> more on studying without a strict routine

5. Take baby steps. If a task seems to be unbearable divide it into small steps i.g. take out notes, prepare supplies, read the task, etc. It should quickly ease your anxiety. You can also talk to your classmates so they can navigate and help you.

6. Cooperate. You can try and cooperate with your friends and classmates to complete a particular task. You will be able to consult and assist each other in the process.

7. Talk to your professor. If you’ve reached your limit try to inform your teacher as soon as possible. Usually, there are ways to do something about that especially if you explain your current situation.

Hope this helps! Take care!
