Yashahime straight up chooses to erase kagura from Sesshomaru history and that's proof how strong her influence was on him, on kohaku, and for the *real* fans of the original series. Anyone who didn't feel empathy for kagura is a heartless motherfucker . That girl was selfless and knew Naraku would come for her after she let kohaku go. She went from a baddie to best girl in the end. What a hero.

Any Kagura references in the new episode?

Not really anon. The biggest Kagura call out happened when Zero died. Kagura's flower field appeared in which twins are also present(along with Riku and Rion of course).

In the recent episode I wouldn't say Kagura was referenced but it seems the series is throwing SessKagu parallels through RiTowa.

Like this is Riku and Towa in the opening song. The flowers are not anemone though.(It's a slowed GIF)

Then also, the following happens in the first episode where Towa is concerned about Riku, who was mourning Zero's death.(I took images from LazySummer's post)

This is very similar to this scene from Inuyasha when Kagura was thinking about Sesshomaru that she wanted to see him one last time before dying.

And here Towa is thinking this after they left the anemone field:

Like Towa is literally going through what both Sesshomaru and Kagura went through. She is a dog demon, and Riku is an incarnation. And we have seen how much Riku's story is similar to Kagura's. Like he even got stab` wound just like Kagura in S1.

In one of the IY interviews, they said purple anemone was Riku's flower. And we know that abilities and appearance vise Towa is like Sesshomaru.

So yeah anon, for some reason we are going SessKagu route through Towa.
