I Read Something This Morning That Really Resonated With Me.

I read something this morning that really resonated with me.

Maybe it’s the fandom, maybe it’s the people.

But back when I was between the ages of 12 and 14 I wrote my first few stories and posted them online. Looking back they were terrible abominations of writing, and should anyone come to me and ask if I wrote them I would deny all knowledge whilst sweating profusely.

And yet despite the atrocity of my first few fanfictions there was a plethora of feedback from readers. ‘Write more!’ ‘I really liked this.’ ‘Loved the ending!’ ‘Look forward to more from you’.

There was constructive feedback and insight as well as the views/likes.

People took an active interest in your words and communicated back to you.

Nowadays as a writer it feels like I’m shouting into the void.

By simply liking a post I understand that you have seen the piece exists. Most often I assume it’s that you’ve saved it to read later, or are merely acknowledging its existence. I have no idea if you read it or not, much less if you enjoyed it.

When you reblog artwork you essentially tell the artist that yes, you liked the piece. You liked it enough to spend an extra few moments putting it onto your own personal space on the web. If you tag it you explicitly communicate how you feel. It’s rare that you would simply like a piece of art, especially if its from your fandom. You want to share it so others can see it and enjoy it.

But most of you wont do that with fanfiction.

It takes a lot of time to learn to write. It takes a lot of time to write. Writers suffer the same periods of art block, or writer’s block as it’s known to us. We don’t struggle with drawing hands. We struggle with writing what that hand is doing in a way that is engaging. Instead of struggling drawing furniture and rooms and backgrounds we struggle to construct the same image but with our words.

It’s all relative. Our plight is no harder or easier than an artist but we do not get the same level of appreciation or recognition that an artist does.

In the end what you get is the same thing. An image on your screen. The difference is you have to look a little harder to see what we’ve painted for you.

So please. Tell the author that you saw it.

We love words. They are our craft. So give us some back.

Reblog a fanfic and get it out there so more people can enjoy it.  Please.

Marriage Names

http://thoughtcatalog.com/melanie-berliet/2015/08/15-men-react-to-the-idea-of-taking-their-wifes-last-name-after-marriage/

8. “No way. Rationale? It’s half a biological impulse, and half a contextual thing. Biologically, the word ‘domain’ keeps popping into my head.  That sounds misogynistic, I know. But at my core, when all is said and done, I believe that the family is my domain. For instance, in any hypothetical state of emergency, I’m going be the one to sacrifice my life to save my wife and children. I should be the one whose name lives on.”

— Raul, 29

I think it’s really unimporant what your surname is, but I just like this answer. As long as he’d sacrifice his life for his family he’s fine to keep his name. I mean he has the right prioritys obviously! My parents aren’t married and I have my mothers surname and I am glad for that, because my initals would be annoying with my fathers surname. But that’s literally the only reason. But I think it’s something everyone should decide for themselfes. If you want your husbands surname, take it.If you want your wifes surname, take it.If you want a double-name, take it.If you want to keep your name, take it.If you want to change both of your name, do it.Whatever.It’s your marriage, nobody should tell you what name you should take on!

Is there anyone in the Teen Wol fandom, that doesn’t want to punch Scott horrible-alpha-and-friend McCall right now?

Rouges and kitten

I asked myself which member of the Rouges would be the one to bring the poor wet kitten home. But they would all do it. Every. Single. One. Of. Them.

Len would complain about every kitten, but then he would bring one home too, because it was raining and the poor thing was completly wet. And he brings it home, cuddeld in his parka. And it will have a pun name if he gets to name it. Hopefully it’s white.

Mick would just shrug at a lone kitten, pick it up and if you don’t want to be burned to death you’re not going to complain.

Lisa would take it and give it food and as Cisco for a name, because it’s the Rouge’s kitten, so it needs a name from Cisco.

Mark would find the poor thing in the rain and then feel sorry, because he made it rain, because he was pissed. So he has to take the thing home. Also he wants to name it Clyde, because it remindes him of his brother.

Hartley would bring it in in stealth mode, because god beware if the others saw his soft spot for kitten. And he would keep it hidden as long as he doesn’t have a perfect name for it, so Lisa can’t let Cisco name it.

Axel would bring it in and put it soaking wet like himself on the kitchen table and would demand everyone to let the poor thing stay.

Season 5 is basically the pack breaking together in itself.

But the reason therefore IS Scott. Because an Alpha is someone who should keep the pack together and he even admitted that it might be his fault. But he does literally NOTHING against it.

At least I did not find anything.

He just keeps saying that there is always another solution, but they currently don’t have the time to sit back and think and Scott is very impulsive on judging people anyways.

But at first he trust everyone (s5e1) as Stiles said, and easily mistrust everyone who has actually done something to gain his trust, mostly Stiles.

And Stiles is actually a much better friend that Scott is. Stiles does everything to keep his friends, family and the pack (even Dereks pack in season 2,3) safe, if possible. Scott doesn’t do that, what makes me really question who he is a true alpha. He showed some true alpha qualities in season 3 but after that it went down the hill.

I think the explatnation for that is found in season 4 after Scot turned Liam. He had no clue what to do about Liam and started telling him the stuff Derek told him back in season 1. Because he had no idea what to do on his own. Usually Scott has backup and he needed Stiles, Kira,s Malias and Lydias backup for getting onto Liam.

So maybe, Scott is a bad alpha because he just has no clue what to do as an alpha.

And he’s really not the best friend towards Stiles, who forgave Scott everything he did througout all 4 seasons before. And Scott doesn’t even think about believing Stiles.

Theo’s picture

Theo: I saw Donovan go down. Stiles hit him with the wrench, and then, he just, he just kept hitting him. Uh, maybe it was because he He threatened to kill his dad. Or maybe Stiles thought he had to keep going to defend himself, but he just He kept hitting him. Scott: That’s not possible. Theo: He crushed that kid’s skull. I heard it cracking and splintering. By the time I pulled Stiles off him, half of Donovan’s head was caved in. It didn’t even look real. (STAMMERING) I keep telling myself that it was self-defense It was self-defense, but Scott, I’m sorry. I’ve never seen anything like it. And I’ve never seen anyone that angry.

Isn’t it a nice vivid picture?

So Scott believed Stiles can kill? Not a problem giving Stiles’ protectivness when it comes to the Sheriff. So Scott didn’t think to ask for the second person’s testimony? Not nice, but understandable.

Now. The issue is that Scott accepted the thought that Stiles is capable of overkill, of opening skulls open and letting bone splinters and brain marrow fly around. And that Stiles was so OK with it that he got rid of the evidence and behaved like nothing happened.

Kira has problem with her kitsune part and Scott doesn’t blame Stiles allegged behaviour on new (or lurking) possession?

I now understand why it was self-defence murder. Donovan is not there for Stiles’ solo arc, he is for Scott and Sheriff. Stiles had had blood on his hands before, we just weren’t shown his hallucinations and turmoil (only the result of it in bags under eyes and overall timidness and guilt).
