Hey I Just Want To Say I'm Really Feeling That Comic About Finally Being Able To Create What You Wanted

a very shitty looking drawing, with a lineless girl in the front with a something that's supposed to be a phoenix behind her. it doesn't really look like a phoenix, its yellow and glowing silhouette of a bird with bat-like wings. the girl in front has a yellow streak in her hair, the same colour as the phoenix. the colours are really ugly, and the background is just a solid dark blue. the girl has no face, and her pose is very rigid. the drawing is captioned '2018', showing it was made in 2018
a drawing very similar to the last, captioned '2021', since it was made in 2021. the bird / phoenix resembles a swan, and has a bit of dimension to it with the shading added. the colours are still rather ugly, and the swan is once again glowing yellow. the girl in front is posed more dramatically. she has a wide stance and is holding her hand out, which is badly foreshortened. her hair is flowing with the wind, and it has that same yellow bit of hair that's the same colour of the phoenix behind her. the yellow hair now glows as well, just like the phoenix. the drawing isn't just flat, lineless colour anymore, theres an attempt of rendering which isn't terrible, but the colours used are still ugly, and the fabric in the t-shirt and jeans aren't rendered well. the phoenix isn't just in the background, the head is now in front of the girl's legs, making the drawing a bit more dynamic. the background is now a gradient of blue to white, and it looks worse than the 2018 background.
a well rendered illustration with the same concept of the previous two drawings, labelled 2023. the girl is now floating in the air, and the camera angle is a bit below her. her hand reaches out to you, and is properly foreshortened so it looks dramatic. the girl's rendering and general detail look a lot better. her jeans finally have a belt, and her hair is flowing well. She has a mouth and nose now, but her eyes are covered by her hair to stay true to the original art. She's smiling with determination of the camera. She has a lot of very dramatic rim lighting on the right side of her body that's exposed to the sun. The phoenix is flying with her, and it's wings vaguely wrap around her. There's a part of the wing very close to the camera to add depth, and most of the girl's body has the phoenix behind it, like the phoenix is protecting her.The phoenix is varying shades of red, orange, and yellow, with white eyes. the wings are rendered rather sketchily as most of the effort's been put into the girl's details (and the artist was tired as well). This is the first time the bird's wings have been drawn at least vaguely well. The background is a very light baby blue, with speckles of white feathers in it.

It’s an old tradition that during a leap year women could propose to men. This was usually depicted as old or ugly women trapping men, but some art focused more on the role reversal and could be quite cute.

I have a soft spot in my heart for the last one because it plays on the idea of “undesirable” people, a tall masculine woman and a shy effeminate man, finding each other but instead of mocking them depicts it as sweet that she could finally ask him because he was too shy and insecure to ask her.
