*Please DO NOT reblog if you are willing to ignore whitewashing, racial slurs, BLACKFACE or post white people and celebrities who have done these things. No, I won’t care how long ago it happened. This post is for, by, and about black people! This post is not meant to be a token splash of color on pages filled with mostly white faces*
Just to be clear: If regularly including ALL KINDS of black people isn’t important to you, this post is not for you. If you can overlook racism towards black people, period, but especially by your nonblack celebrity faves then this post is not for you. If you only objectify (ignore the objectification of) black men then move the fuck on. If your default porn preference is fetishizing interracial race play, mandingo, sex slave or some other dehumanizing fantasies MOVE THE FUCK ON.
FYI, if this caption bothers you then I’m DEFINITELY talking about you.
This post is about celebrating black men and connecting with others who respect black men and not those who fetishize us and our bodies.

Kinky (2018, La Marre)

Joyce (Dawn Richard), a dedicated orthopedic surgeon, is looking to broaden her sexual horizons. Darrin (Robert Ri'chard) is a successful businessman discovering that being in the boardroom is the only place he wants to be dominant.
As a fan of Secretary (2002) and the Fifty Shades of Grey films I was excited to finally see a kink movie centering a Black woman; unfortunately it is not a prestige film like Secretary or a fun piece of erotica like Fifty Shades. Instead it's a disjointed slog of unimportant filler and kink lite.
I wasn't expecting an Oscar worthy exploration of Black kink, but I was expecting this movie to, at the least, be compelling and sexy. With a budget of only $3.5 milliom I knew it wasn't going to be a glossy blockbuster, an audience can get over a bad looking movie if the script is good and the acting is moving, unfortunately for Kinky the script is terrible and the acting is flat. The dialogue doesn't move the story forward or anywhere for that matter. Nothing important about Joyce or Darrin is learned to make one understand why we're following them. There are so many directionless plotlines. The only well thought out dialogue is that between Joyce and her therapist, played by director and writer Jean-Claude La Marre. The leads Dawn and Robert are monotonous and stiff. Vivica A Fox, Jean-Claude La Marre are the only ones giving range.
With a tagline reading, "When fifty shades isn't enough" I expect to see kink that is riveting, enticing, and sexy. Instead the audience is served diet kink. Kinky is full of simple masturbation, a few light spanks, and PG-13 sex scenes. There has been more risque sex on daytime TV.
Although I dislike this film I see it's potential and allure. I'd watch a part two.

Some Musings
I like the idea of the C story being Vivica A. Fox's character Dana, a vixen in a sexless marriage, being reinvigorated by her little sisters awakening.
We needed more Robert Ri'chard's business man to understand what draws him too Joyce and why he's so quick and open to being her sub, instead we're stuck with hilariously vague business meetings being us know he's a business man.
There are a few thriller like plot lines that lead to nothing, Darrin Henson is Joyce's colleague that refuses to take "No" for an answer. A female resident is clearly smitten for Joyce. You can tell from the way it ends there is meant to be a part two but I don't think that's going to happen.
Joyce's friends are so annoying during the toy party scene.
I do suggest people watch it, ya' know, support Black film and all. Its $1.99 on Amazon Streaming. (It's on YouTube for free)

the awkward moment when she can touch his delicious ass and I cant.
