Overwatch Valentine's Day Headcannons

My headcannons about how OW characters would treat you on Valentine's Day. Does NOT include Bastion, Echo, Orisa, Sigma, Winston, or Wrecking Ball

Baptiste, Hanzo, Lucio, Reinhardt, Torbjorn, and Tracer follow the classic moves. They will ask you to be their Valentine; it doens't matter how long you've been together, and they always seem excited when you say yes. They cancel any and all plans on the 14th, handle all the plans and reservations, and give thoughtful gifts that show how much they know about you and care for you. Valentine's Day is always the WHOLE day for them. However, they are laser-focused on the day being perfect, and a small inconvenience can stress them the fuck out.

B.O.B, Doomfist, Moira, Ramattra, and Zenyatta don't understand the holiday at all. You guys shower love on each other all year long, so they don't need the calendar's permission to express themselves to you. But if Valentine's Day is important to you, they will match you excitement and energy, and do their best to meet your expectations. If your not a fan of the holiday, they won't notice it passing every year.

Brigitte, Lifeweaver, Mei, Symmetra, and Zarya are the ones who want to be courted and doted on. They love to be asked to be your Valentine, or surprised with a romantic night. You'll notice them getting a little more upset with you as the day gets closer and you don't seem to be making any plans. They just like being treated like the royalty they are.

Ashe, Cassidy, Pharah, Roadhog, and Sombra ask you about a week in advance "What do you want to do for VD this year?" And whatever you answer, they will go along with, even though they would rather treat it like any other day. This is not from a lack of romance or interest in you, but just a lack on interest on the holiday.

D.Va and Mercy are busy with the schedule of being a celebrity and a doctor, Genji has spent the past few years adopting an "every day is important" mentality, Kiriko and Sojourn are putting most of their focus on their vigilante work, and Junkrat always has a flittering mind, so they all have a 20% chance of remembering at all.

Ana, Illari, Junker Queen, Mauga, Reaper, Soldier: 76, and Widowmaker are the bitter, cold-hearted fucks that roll their eyes at the holiday. If there's love in the air, they're spraying Febreze and wearing a gas mask.

Omnics and Sexuality

I've posted about omnic characters' gender identity, so now let's talk about sexuality. I know lots of fanartist and fanfiction writers will give them genitals or make it so that playing with their wires will achieve something like an orgasm. My hc is that omnics can't feel physical pain or pleasure. Some like the emotional closeness of sex acts, some have no strong feelings about it and will do it for their partners' sake, some are actively grossed out by it, and everywhere else on the sexuality spectrum.

Zenyatta: Maybe Demisexual or Asexual. If my memory of the lore is correct, him becoming a wandering guru meant that he is not officially a monk anymore? So if he wanted to, he could try intimacy. But I hc that he's never really thought about it or experienced a want for that sort of intimacy. So, at this point in his life, his sexuality is very undefined. I don't think he's even seen a human naked. His anatomy knowledge is that guys have a penis, girls have vaginas. What actually are these things? No idea!

Ramattra: would die before having a human partner. So I hc that his sexuality would just be a copy of his omnic partner's. If taking off their clothes and touching each other is what they need to feel connected, Ramattra will oblige. If physical intimacy is completely out of the question, that's great. As long as they can still cuddle, hug, and hold hands.

Bastion and Orisa: despite being war machines created for combat and bloodshed, I hc they are mentally very young and probably don't understand what sex is. Maybe in a couple years, they'll mature and do some self-discovery. But right now, they have no more sexuality then a human child does.

Lynx Seventeen: Pansexual. Attracted to confidence, reliability, generosity, and loyalty. When their partner, omnic or human, trusts them enough to be vulnerable and intimate with them, they take it VERY seriously. With an omnic partner, they will ask 20 questions about how best to satisfy and make them feel loved. With a human partner, they take it as a mission of utmost importance to figure out how to give this particular human the best orgasm of their life. Lynx will have a stopwatch in one hand and a spreadsheet on the nightstand, archiving data on what actions get the desired responses. After they shatter your world, be prepared to take a survey on how good it was for you.

Bob: idk if there's a word for it, but he is attracted to femininity, regardless of the actual gender or gender identity of the person. On omnic rocking heels and a backless dress? Yes, please. A male human with makeup on point and nails perfect for running down his body? So sexy. A tiny waist to grab onto? Long, slender legs? Soft, sweet hair? Be still, my beating heart!

Luna: bisexual. Sees beauty in masculinity and feminity. Her type is short, sweet, energetic, and friendly. LOVES a short king that isn't scared to let her take charge. Has to be good with PDA and lovey-dovey stuff.

Maximillen: Straight. Wants feminine women. Considers it an ego boost to be the one to enjoy a beautiful woman, and be chosen by her over a male human.

I think omnics would be very close to the LGBT+ community because they both experience similar hate and being told how to live or identify.

Also, no one really talks about how when Sojiro died, it was.other members of the family who pressured Hanzo to get Genji under control. And there's no mention of these mysterious characters anywhere else? And the lore never really goes into details about how the Shimada clan operated. So did the emotional/mental abuse really come from Sojiro directly?

I will never NOT be annoyed with Overwatch fan writers who turn Sojiro Shimada into the flattest character possible.

I've always been fascinated by Sojiro and his life before his untimely death. There's still so much that hasn't been explained about him and his relationships with his sons, and what little we do know paints a picture of what could potentially be a very complex individual.

Yet even after SEVEN YEARS, he STILL gets fucked over by this fandom.

It's painfully obvious that certain fans just want Sojiro to fill the role of generic antagonist; he's constantly stripped of any potential complexity in favor of a one-dimensional "cold/abusive/homophobic Asian parent" stereotype.

It's SO. FUCKING. BORING. 😑

Thoughts on Overwatch character designs (Winston edition)

Not a whole lot of differences between skins. A very mute color pallet (gray, brown, black), with the only sharp contrast being the sharp white. It draws my eyes to his chest and forearms, but I don't know why that would add to the design. I do like the blueish-black color of his face and beard. Helps distinguish him from his suit. Both skins are clearly designed after astronaut suits but redesigned forncombat, which does come across really well. It's also a good hint towards his lore. I wish his facial expression wasn't so angry looking. I'm sure this is a reference to his ultimate, but his voicelines and interactions make him seem more gentle, curious, and awkward. I wish his expression was one of thoughtfulness or curiosity.

Overwatch 1: a perfectly fine 5/10. A good concept with a nice design idea, but without the creativity to make him anything but a gorilla in a space suit.

Overwatch 2: an above average 6/10. It has more rounded, softer edges, and his proportions looke like they have been modify in a way i like (bigger head, broader hindquaters, stomach sticks out more). And I like how the metal on his head was re-imagined to look like a headpeice.

Thoughts on Overwatch designs (Mercy Edition)

The "angel" look was a perfect design choice for her. Her skin and hair (white person with blonde hair is a very common betrayal for angels in art), her tragic backstory for motivation, her playstyle within the game. It all fits the angelic aesthetic so well.

Ow1 skin boasts a bigger halo, smaller wings, is more conserverative with the colored accents, and I like her hair better (doesn't make sense to have loose hair getting in your face when fighting). However, the oranges and yellows don't quite go with the "angel" gimmick, and i don't understand their placements. I like splashes of color, but there needs to be thought put into it. And I wish the wings were bigger and had more attention put into them. 7/10 a perfectly safe, cute, pleasant design that fits into the world she's in, and stays true to her concept.

Ow2 gives the wings more detail and orange and yellow have become golden accents, which fits her angel gimmick more. I love her skirt, with the sides that look like metal feathers, and the front and backs look like banners you would see carried by a warrior. I wish the halo was more noticeable, and she had her ponytail back. And the brown part of her torso muddles the look a bit, while black kept it together more. 7/10

Both looks have small things I like and dislike, but nothing that blows me away or draws my eye.
