I took advantage of this mini comic to experiment with new coloring styles and watercolor brush 🎨 The freight car is sort of a tribute to the first stop where Cooper and Lucy rest in the beautiful @bitumz longfic. ❤️

Infamous, overdone, KLK scene: MTNN Edition

I was inspired for this art by lines from the Russian song "Неизбежность зла" ("Inevitability of Evil", it has an English version "House of Cards"). The idea I think is clear: two sides of the same coin, or the dark and light side of the Force if you wish (somewhere reylo fans cry, including me XD).

I wanted the strongest symbolism, so I drew the Heart of Kandrakar to resemble a yin-yang. The black substance inside is inspired by episode 20 of season 1, when the crystal absorbed the Seal of Phobos. The substance shimmers purple, as this color is obtained by mixing pink and turquoise. The pink belongs to the owner of the Heart of Kandrakar, who infuses it with light energy, and the (almost) complimentary turquoise belongs to the prince, who poisons the artifact with dark magic. The crystal does not reject it, observing neutrality to the exclusion of the strict concept of good and evil. After all, are the sides of the coin so different from each other?

Lucy with almost gifts from Cooper (according to the fanfic's plot). He bought her a hat (and then made her pay back the caps with interest), picked some Broc flowers for cure (he didn't want to have a ballast on his side and felt indebted for saving his life in Super Duper Mart), carved a necklace out of a death claw (to show respect for the fact that Lucy had taken down the monster single-handedly, and, perhaps, gave her her first real gift). Lucy bought the poncho herself, now looking like a Wasteland bride!
