If Nicolas was one thing, he was observant. He noticed almost immediately that you were not okay, from your glazed over eyes to your arms wrapped tightly around your figure, his mind was filled with concern. It only worsened when you politely shooed Alex away as she had asked for the 10th time if something were the matter.

What’s wrong? Are you sick? He signs, his expression softened from his normal hard stare. And as you shake your head no with a frown, he stares at you silently before turning on his heels and leaving out the door, not letting you get a word out. Sometimes just living and breathing was hard and out of everybody, he understood that the most. Nicolas assumes it must be one of those days for you

He would come back later with your favorite snacks and drinks before snatching you up in his arms and walking to his room. Any complaints or struggles are ignored, you have no choice in the matter.

He places you down gently on the mattress doing likewise with the bag of items. He folds the blanket over your form, turning you into a blanket burrito (or squishy ball) and moves you over a bit so he can lay next to you before rolling you over his chest so you’re exactly on his heartbeat, hoping the quiet thumping would make you feel at least a little better because that’s something he knows he would enjoy if he was feeling down.

And you stay like that, curled into his chest with his arm wrapped around you, quietly absorbing each other’s presence. He’d take your face in his other hand and turn you to look at him. With both hands occupied, he speaks.

“Next time, tell me if you’re feeling bad. You don’t have to struggle alone”

If you start getting teary eyed, he’d lightly swipe away your tears and kiss your forehead, turning to grab your snacks because he didn’t know when the last time you ate was and was better way to fill up then with your favorite food.

He’d sit up and place his head on top of yours as you ate, wrapping his arms around your body so he can know when you’re breathing starts to regulate again. But until then, you’re stuck in his warm arms, breathing his scent, and enjoying his company until you 110% feel better
