the genius of justitia/bitna looking first at daon and then at the victim's mother before her heart starts to violently beat to life in her chest — the fact that he is the first thread tying her to the beginnings of her humanity. daon is her anchor in this world: hate or love; he is the heat of all her emotions — the hurt in his gaze actually manages to halt her. make her hesitate. make her feel.

a demon disavows all emotion — but even the solemn-most of vows depart at the desperate anger in daon's face. this show might not be a love story but it is still a story about love — the lingering weight of a creature's conscience at the sight of daon's despairingly furious face.

the character development in this show is brilliant.

can't believe han daon is getting hate for doing his job lmao. ok, even if he is being annoying, daon catching the slipup in the killer's multiple personalities story by mixing up their last names? galaxy brain. the way he caught bitna off guard and grabbed her leg? amazing. the way he thought of using the cloud to retrieve the son's recording was *chef's kiss* and when he walked into the court room, blasted it, and shocked everyone??? good stuff.

when he fought against the demons and managed to handcuff one to the truck? genius (next time he should think of using his cross necklace).

justitia/bitna & daon's dynamic keeps improving upon itself with every passing episode. for daon; in a world full of humans — it's only a demon that can somehow bring him a modicum of comfort. there's a particular, beseeching quality to his eyes when he looks at justitia/bitna — a vulnerability that only she; even with all her brusqueness: can manage to soothe. an ache only she knows how to address.

and for justitia/bitna — the need to protect daon is almost intrinsic by now. there's real hurt in her eyes when she discovers he's been plotting against her — real disappointment on her face. daon is the entire depth of her burgeoning humanity — the conduit through which she's beginning to care about the rest of the world.

any sort of relationship with a supernatural entity is doomed from the start — but the inevitability of its occurrence is its own kind of happiness while it lasts. daon can't help but be drawn to bitna/justitia; and she can't help but be drawn to him.

to daon; justitia/bitna might be his salvation. to her, daon might be her downfall — dark and light; chaos and order. they were always destined to meet.
