I find it interesting that Fire Spirit is largely disliked by the other cookies (aside from Devil, Yam, and Sea Fairy), who see him as antagonistic or unnessiarily destructive. I wonder if that has anything to do with his quotes about true love being like an eternal flame.

I also find it interesting that Hero and by extent most of the residents of Earthbread consider him a villain (Hero says that he should keep an eye on him, Wind Archer dislikes him and considers shooting him, Sugar Glass keeps him away from the greenhouse out of fear that he will melt it, Herb is scared of him, ect). Fire Spirit also considers himself a villain in the comics but doesn't really end up doing anything antagonistic exept from setting things on fire every now and then and manically cackling. Hell, he even lets Hero stay at his (castle? house??) until Hero's house is repaired.

He's so interesting I love his character.

I absolutely love fire spirits character. Part of the reason why he's my favorite cookie. The weird thing is, he doesn't really have any negative views towards the other legendaries except sea fairy, which is pretty normal because she's basically pure water, yet like you said, he's viewed as a villain. I find it strange personally. He's not corrupted or anything, just has some influence from the red dragon, and pitaya is honestly the most chill of the dragons. Talking about when he let hero stay with him, I honestly think that fire spirit is trying to be a good cookie, but he's got that influence and pressure from the red dragon so I think he's essentially peer pressured in a way to act like he does. I really think he's misunderstood by the other legendaries, and I saw this post where the OP said that sea fairy can sense good hearts in cookies, and she can sense that fire spirit has a gseeood heart. He's probably tired of being misunderstood by the other legendaries, so he decided to just start setting the world on fire. While he's wearing his legendary costume, he even says that he's probably better off gone. This post here that I reblogged has screenshots of all his dialogue with his legendary costume, and some of them make me feel bad for him.
