An explosion.

With three bullets in your abdomen and suffocated by the rubble of the collapsed building, the team presumed you dead on impact.

Yet König didn't. He needed to see you. As much as the sight would break his heart, he couldn't know for sure unless he saw the life draining from your eyes first-hand.

But there was no time. Hordes of enemies were closing in on them, surrounding them until there was no time to escape, let alone hold off the guns and save you in time.

"König! It's too late! No point in attempting to save them when all you'd recover would be their corpse!"

He would be devastated, thrashing and kicking wildly as three men held him back, dragging his limbs to the running helicopter that could be ambushed at any moment.

Still yelling your name as the helicopter lifted off, thick tears made his hood stick to his cheeks, his vision blurred.

Yet you had never died.

As you laid there, your ribs cracking under the pressure of brick and slowly succumbing to asphyxiation, you closed your eyes in acceptance.

Then, light through the cracks.

The face of the fugitive you had all pursued this mission grinned at you wickedly, and cackled.

"Well, well, what do we have here?"
