HP FANFICS CLICHES

Since I’m writing a Harry Potter fanfiction myself and I’ve read BILLIONS of them there’s a list of things I want to point out which are PRETTY annoying. I’ll start with these popular two. 

Draco x OC: • His parents NEVER approve of the girl because she’s a Muggle-born or Gryffindor or etc. (or they don’t like her for no reason, but they just have to hate her, or at least Lucius).

• There is a weird tendency amongst these ffs’ writers to put the girl in Hogwarts suddenly, like, she never went there but decided to go in her 5th year, or she was expelled from Durmstrang or any other school. It doesn’t appeal only to Draco ones. Like, she never starts Hogwarts properly.

• If she knows Draco for a longer time, there is a high chance of finding the line “I’ve always had a crush on Draco.”

• The line “Draco Malfoy never apologises to anyone, but he just did to me” just speaks for itself. *CRINGE*

• She always LOATHES Pansy. No matter where she is from. She always loathes her. And Pansy always (somehow) slithers in.

• In the books, Draco is almost inseparable with Crabbe and Goyle, but somehow in fanfictions they magically disappear and are almost never around. 

• There is a very high chance she’s related to Harry or someone else from Gryffindor, or at least friends with them, and she tries to persuade Draco to like them for her sake.

• If she’s not related to Harry, then you might find her being related to either Snape or Voldemort. Like, Snape’s long lost daughter for example…

• She’s almost never in Slytherin. Like, why?!

• And if she, by some miracle, is in Slytherin, then she hates Draco from the very beginning. But, of course, he falls for her first.

•  A Muggle-born in Slytherin. *sighs*

Dramione:

• It’s always Draco who starts it all.

• It’s always like some project or something they HAVE to work on together.

• Room of Requirement is literally the only place in the castle.

• He tells her he’s a Death Eater just like that and she’s not frightened at all or doesn’t even tell Harry or Ron. LIKE WAIT, THEY’RE HER BEST FRIENDS, THE REAL HERMIONE WOULD HAVE TOLD THEM INSTANTLY.

• Heart hurt by Ron = fixed by Draco. *sighs*

• Krum’s a bit too touchy? Here comes Draco Malfoy to the rescue…

• “Wow, he even stopped himself from calling me a Mudblood once.” HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU READ THAT LINE?

• Draco insults her, she cries, and then it goes: “She’s beautiful when she’s crying.” GOD, IT DOESN’T WORK LIKE THIS. 

• She sneaks out every evening/night but literally nobody notices. Maybe Harry will go, “Where are you going?” once and she will say library, and they will never need her and check whether she’s in the library. Never.

• They have to be together, because yes. Because law. They hate each other but they have to. Like, have you ever really hated someone? Like, sincerely hated, not like, “He’s so annoying, I don’t like him, but he’s cute though”?Y ou don’t fall for them just like this.

This are just a few. I was so annoyed that’s why I wrote this. Merlin.
