At Last, After A Month Of Starting A New Piece Every Time I Hit A Difficult Or Intimidating Part Of A

At last, after a month of starting a new piece every time I hit a difficult or intimidating part of a WIP, I have finished one. I snatched the reference from Deadpool vs Wolverine: Slash 'em Up Infinity Comic 2024, issue 2. I really focused on matching the colors as closely as I possibly could without color picking, and I think it was helpful practice

When I first got into digital painting, I was introduced to a wide variety of techniques that greatly motivated my desire for improvement. I became obsessed with mixing colors, and learning how to understand color theory with it is what really made my drawings shine. For this reason, I choose to modify my palette to focus mainly on primary colors rather than the ones at random. As you can see, this is a comparison between the two artworks over a three month gap. Although I used primary colors and better adaption to color theory this time around, what you’ve may or may not noticed is that the type of brush I was using greatly changed. I had abandoned the acrylic brush in favor of a more comfortable one because I wasn’t so used to my drawings feeling too glossy. For now, I currently use the spectra brush (the one I used on the right) for my paintings, though I’d plan to adapt to other brushes in the future if I can.
Overall, the comparison between the two artworks just goes to show how faster my art progress is getting. The gap is still a little wide though, but my passion will forever remain unyielding no matter what.

Mr Hozier reference photo was taken from the Rolling Stone issue. Thought it would be good for a color/lighting study :)
