You Are Enough

Pairing: Josh Kiszka X fem!Reader

Summary: Josh comforts you after he finds you in the midst of a depressive episode in your shared apartment.

Josh returned from the studio that day to your shared apartment to find it silent and completely dark, not a single light was on in your entire home. It was as if all the life and love present here had just been sucked out.

“(y/n)?” Josh called out, wondering if something bad had happened today while he was gone and you were here all alone.

He called out your name once more but all he got in return again was pure, worrying silence as his heart sunk to his stomach.

His eyebrows then began to furrow with worry as he realized that the house being in this state could only mean one thing, that the depressive episode that had been brewing for the last week had finally hit you.

And while Josh had never been there for one of your depressive episodes before as you two had been together for a little over a year, he still knew how they were for you as you had been really open with him about them pretty early into your relationship.

He slowly walked into your shared bedroom and his heart broke right then and there for you the second he saw you curled up on top of the bed, the biggest blanket you owned covering you completely except for the very top of your head.

Josh then slowly pulled the blanket all the way off of your head whilst he crouched down in front of you, gently rubbing circles into your leg that was hanging off of the bed while he started to speak, “Hey, mama.” he quietly murmured to you, a soft smile on his face.

“Hi, Josh.” you almost silently replied as you tried to pull the blanket back over your head, not quite ready to face the world yet, but Josh didn’t let this happen.

He was going to help you to the best of his abilities every step of the way because in his mind you along with anyone else who struggled with depression, didn’t deserve to go through this sort of thing alone.

He would always be there for you for the rest of your lives whether you wanted him to be or not.

But in this case, you were extremely glad that he was there. During this entire day you had been dealing with those horrible thoughts that always pop into your head when you are feeling this way and all you needed right now was Josh to comfort you.

“What’s going on in that pretty head of yours, dove?” he kindly asked you, a quiet volume still to his voice so that he didn’t overwhelm you with it.

“Too much, it’s just too loud up there. I can barely take it all anymore.” you mumbled as you pointed to your head, feeling too mentally exhausted to explain everything that was going on in your head.

And for Josh, that short explanation you had just given him was more than enough. He listened to what you had said with eager eyes whilst he started to stroke your cheek and bottom lip with the pad of his thumb.

“Before we do anything else, I just want to say that you are more than enough, my love. I wake up every morning and go to sleep every night with a smile on my face all because of you. And I don’t know what I’d ever do without you, mama. So, what can I do to help?” he gently asked you, slowly starting to sit next to you on the bed so that he could hug you once he was done talking.

You lightly smiled at the sound of the things he had just told you, but before you even thought about responding to his question, you accepted the hug he was offering you with his hands out in front of him.

Your cheeks lightly blushed while you pulled him in for this long hug as you could feel the necklace he had on today bumping against your own as he rubbed your back and muttered comforting things into your ear.

“For tonight, I just want to take a bath with you and then get some takeout for us to eat while we watch a movie. Is that okay with you?” you replied answering his question two minutes after he initially asked it, still not having the motivation to leave his arms.

Josh started to speak to you once more as he pulled away from your arms, making you groan at him in response, “Yes, that is more than okay with me.” he told you with a smile on your face and a look in his eyes that made you softly smile again.

You nodded in response to his wordless question, prompting him to scoop you up into his arms bridal style, causing a noise of surprise to escape your slightly chapped lips.

You watched with admiration in your eyes as you sat on the counter in your decently sized bathroom and Josh began to fill up the pretty big bathtub you two had in your apartment.

And once it was full not too long after he had turned it on, he got you undressed so that all you would have to think about right now is relaxing in your handsome boyfriends arms.

You then let your eyes flutter shut as you felt Josh get in behind you in the comforting bathtub and take you in his arms. You pressed your cheek against his shoulder as you got settled in between his legs and on top of his chest.

“I love you, Joshy. Thank you for this.” you sleepily mumbled to him, unconsciously snaking your arms around his waist that was submerged in the warm water.

“No need to thank me, mama. I would do this for you anytime.” he cutely made known to you, pressing a soft kiss to your lips prior to you falling asleep on his chest while the two of you were still in the tub.

And as you fell asleep, he let his hands trail down to the top of your butt where he very slowly began to rest his hands upon it, not wanting to startle you awake.

— Time Skip: An hour and a half —

In this present moment, you and Josh were cuddling on the couch in your apartment as you two contently ate the food Josh had ordered just before he woke you up from your peaceful nap in the bathtub.

On the tv there was some random movie playing that you genuinely couldn’t be bothered to remember the title of, you just wanted an excuse to get your boyfriend to cuddle with you without you having to awkwardly ask.

You wanted this as you believed that you didn’t deserve Josh and his undivided love for you. But maybe this time, getting through an episode would be a bit easier now that you had Josh by your side.

“I love you, my sweet girl and you do deserve my love, I promise you.” Josh reminded you, as if he could some how read your thoughts but in reality he could just tell by that look in your eyes.

You gazed him into his brown eyes, your cheeks lightly blushing once more as you replied to him, “I love you too, handsome.” you said, making him blush with you as you then pressed another kiss to his soft lips.
