Humans quickly get a reputation among the interplanetry alliance and the reputation is this: when going somewhere dangerous, take a human.
Humans are tough. Humans can last days without food. Humans heal so fast they pierce holes in themselves or inject ink for fun. Humans will walk for days on broken bones in order to make it to safety. Humans will literally cut off bits of themselves if trapped by a disaster.
You would be amazed what humans will do to survive. Or to ensure the survival of others they feel responsible for.
That’s the other thing. Humans pack-bond, and they spill their pack-bonding instincts everywhere. Sure it’s weird when they talk sympathetically to broken spaceships or try to pet every lifeform that scans as non-toxic. It’s even a little weird that just existing in the same place as them for long enough seems to make them care about you. But if you’re hurt, if you’re trapped, if you need someone to fetch help?
You really want a human.
Roomie asked me to design a birthday card of tulips and/or roses. We are both shocked at how well it turned out!
I dearly want to scan this, but all I have is my cell phone camera. And the card gets mailed tomorrow.
If the Birthday Girl doesn’t love this, I will cry!
Invasion America Cartoon
A while back, I saw the first part of the first episode of Invasion America. It sparked my interest and imagination but I wasn’t able to watch it since we didn’t have those channels (and you can’t spend the entire time in a hotel just watching tv).
I found it on Youtube huzzah!
I’m on episode 10, don’t anybody spoil it for me. ‘Cause I’m really enjoying this show!

I feel like a bad person because it’s 2:38 AM and I’m starting watching Nero Wolfe. I don’t have anything on tomorrow, but I feel like I’m failing at something.
…but it’s Nero Wolfe I mean fucking Timothy Hutton and noir and sass c'mon
So, the very nice man who fixes all the thing that go wrong in our building is here again. I really should work up the courage to ask his name ‘cause he is the best.
Right now he’s fixing the furnaces, which is next to our apartment. That’s great. But it means he’s close enough that I think he heard me scolding the oven timer.
