today i decided to start posting some of my favorite twitter threads from over the years on my blog, backdated to when i first posted them. why? because they should've been blog posts in the first place, full stop. time to fix that!

here's a newly digitized maze! this one's a weird attempt at a perspective warp that i think worked out purely by accident??? looks weird but cool, further proof that perspective is more fun when you make up your own rules ✨

it turns out i never posted a few of my old mazes here! i'll get started queueing those up ASAP as a break from all the videos. one maze will be posted each day that a vid is not already slotted for (including today!) until i run out.

most of these still have my old name on them, so keep that in mind!

so it turns out "op art" on tumblr also means one piece fanart.

"op art"! i finally remembered, the term for my mazes is op art. art made from geometric lines and shapes that create optical illusions, distortions, movement, perspective...

considering that's what my inspirations at megamazes called it too, i think i should start tagging it as such. i'll go back and re-tag them when i get the opportunity

i'm a big fan of art that doubles as function, like op art mazes, voxel art stretchmo levels, etc. it gives a reason to explore the art from every angle and discover new perspectives

of course that's related to why i like video games so much, hehe
