Exactly what I was thinking now. If I don't love Moonvale, I still can read and write fanfics, fanarts, headcanons and everything that holds comfort.

Replaying Duskwood for me doesn't work. I'm a believer that the second thing of something will never be the same or as good as the first. I want to keep Duskwood and my friends in my memory the way I left them. With all the mistakes, twisted relationships and unanswered questions.

The fear inside of me haven't faded yet. And I think it'll never.

That's the fate of every Duskwood player.

The only thing I can think is, if Moonvale fails, I'll at least stay with Duskwood, with the fanfics, I want to write the sequel because I love Jake and the rest of the characters

I want to continue making Duskwood content, because it's the only thing that comforts me...

My overall comment on the game. Since I wouldn't be able to afford premium either way, I have no comment on it. But premium pack is still better than this.

We all happily take and love everything related to Duskwood, even if just a single idea made into a headcanon. Also, the artists and writers need inspirations for their own work. And what else is better than our own community's works?

Do we still do Duskwood fanfics here? I haven’t been active on here for a while, but after finishing Episode 1 of Moonvale, I’m 800+ words into writing a Jake/MC reunion fic that I don’t know if I should eventually post when it’s done 🥲

I feel like Everbyte knows this. Just, hear me out:

Everbyte knows that the Duskwood fans are highly interested and attached to the game on a deep emotional way, and would do (literally) anything to relive the feeling. To know what happened. Hence, they got us trapped.

They also know that new players never heard of, or only heard good things about Duskwood and how this new game will be awesome as well. Everbyte got them as well in their hand.

What I wanted to say is, no matter if you're new or Duskwood player, Everbyte damn well knows we're gonna play. They did the advertisement perfectly, I have to admit, but what are ads and promises without proof and truth?

Here are my overall thoughts:

Will I be continuing Moonvale because I love Jake and want every possible path back to Duskwood I can have? Yes.

Am I happy with the way this gameplay is? Not necessarily. The fact that towards the end of the game, it was 25 diamonds each to see 2 videos within the span of literally 5 minutes of each other is outright ridiculous. And yes, I could have played around the videos and photos—and sometimes I had to, just because it felt like I was spending a ridiculous amount of money and I was still only on episode one—but where is the fun in that? I want to be able to play with the videos and have every opportunity I can.

Duskwood pulled me in right away. I loved it from the very beginning, and while I am still learning to know the characters in Moonvale and the story could possibly be fun, I am really only playing at this point for the opportunities and paths that lead us back to Duskwood. If it wasn’t connected, I think I would have honestly stopped playing at this point because the things we had to do in this game to continue the gameplay were outright annoying.

It gets a bit better, I promise. Just like in Duskwood, the start was really confusing. But keep in mind, this is only the first episode. It has to get better, Everbyte promised us...
