“Here… Have some water.”

You blindly reached out for the glass that Ten pushed towards you from across the table. Numbly, you watched as your pale fingers wrapped around it, the cold seeping into your skin like painful pinpricks. The hubbub of the coffee shop around you sounded like white noise to your ears, a complete contrast of the deafening silence from the two men sitting in front of you now. Hell, you didn’t even realize that you called them during the mess of everything that has happened in the last two hours, but here you are, staring numbly at nothing in particular as both waited for you to speak. 

“Hey… are you okay? You’re not hurt anywhere are you?” Kun asked carefully after a few more seconds of silence. You flinched despite the gentleness of his voice and raised your eyes to finally meet his.

“It’s okay. You don’t need to talk first, we just wanted to make sure you aren’t in pain or—”

“I think Cypher has my father.”

Sprawled across the couch of Liu Yangyang’s basement, passing along bottles of beer and laughing to themselves, there’s a group of people enjoying their Friday evening. The low melody of the music playing in the background is loud enough to make you move your head to the beat of the drums, yet still quiet enough to not disturb the conversation going on as the friend group decides to play a round of every college student’s dream game– Truth or dare.

“Renjun! Truth or dare,” Yangyang perks up from his place, occupying the bean bag in the very corner of the room. 

“Truth,” the latter hums, too lazy to actually stand up from his place on the old, cigarette-smelling sofa in case of getting a dare that requires being active.

“What’s the most over the top thing you’ve done to get a girl?” 

The boy chuckles, rolling his eyes as his gaze drifts to the girl sitting on his right, the feeling of being exposed creeping up his cheeks in embarrassment; he wonders if he can play off his flushed cheeks as being too drunk and not at all flustered. Sighing, he shakes his head as he prepares to answer, already getting ready for the amount of teasing that will surely come next, knowing how his friends are, grabbing every possible opportunity to laugh at someone.

And while they all have every right to tease and poke fun at him for his love story, the knowledge that one day, they were just as down bad as he was back then brings him courage as he tells the truth; because as long as he’s aware, there are people in this circle who have acted way more dramatic than him in the process of getting the girl of their dreams to like them…

extended summary  ▸ Kity Kim was probably the best, and the worst person existing on campus. With an eccentric, weird yet endearing personality, she was the warmth presence of the angel on your right shoulder, and the mischievous whispers of the demon on your left. She was know for looking like a earth fairy accompanied by the crooked smile of a pretty seductive witch ready to eat you alive. People know to be wary of her, and adore her in the same time. Big doll eyes and tongue sharp, loud enchanting laughter and fangs out, it was impossible to hate the social butterfly as much as it was impossible to fully trust her.

Well know for being the campus’s cupid, she was the one who knew everything in everyone’s hearts ; their dirty secrets to their most adorable crushes. And if she didn’t cared that much about the dirt they hides under their shoes, she was very curious about what ──or more like who── made students dreams at night.(After all, if people were more focused on hiding their secrets and their fears from her; they will never find her own, right?). It was a fun thing to do, playing with love and heart shaped arrows. That feeling, as deep and complicated it could be, always be so sure. 

Love was life, and people lived out and for love and the pain it caused. Watching people smile, saccharine sweet and disgustingly syrupy kisses to the hateful words and the diamonds tears on the cheeks always been something Kity found interest in. Play with it instead of being played by. Wasn’t it so fun?

But God’s not fool, neither is the goddess Aphrodite. And playing with something you can’t control always end up in tragedy ── ask Roméo, ask Achilles, ask Apollo, ask Jaemin and Jeno. 

Love make people go crazy, changes people, make them become the worst reflections in their mirror. Love control hearts and its carmin strings, and Love cannot be controlled ── too bad that Kity Kim neither can be.

And as much as Kity hated people she couldn’t perceive, if the Gods wanted to punish her into sending her way two more than complicated boys, she wasn’t gonna back off the challenge. (She was a coward. She screamed more than she could count on her fingers when something not even scary happened in the corner of her room, or running the other way around when problems a little big enough make appearance in her life. She was a coward, but not when it was about her games).

SUMMARY. fourth year pre-med student and neo university student council president, haechan lee does not have the time for relationships. instead, he focuses his attention on his studies and extracurriculars, so as not to disappoint his parents. that is until hera seo came along—and everyone starts to wonder if the university’s golden boy would finally let his heart lose.

NARI WASN’T SURE what time it was already. All she knew was that it had been a while since they left the cinema, she and Jaemin just walking side by side as they made their way to his condo building. 

“You should just stay over,” Jaemin said, catching her off guard.

“What?”

“God knows what time it is already, Nari, you can just stay over. You only have afternoon classes tomorrow, right?” 

“Right,” she muttered, nodding her head. “But is that okay with you, or—”

He chuckled, cutting her off, and she couldn’t help but turn her head to glance at him, catching a glimpse of the small smile on his lips. 

If she felt like her heart was burning inside her chest at the sight of him like that—smiling, with his face aglow because of the lights from the streetlights—she’d never admit that to anyone.

“Of course, it’s okay,” he said, turning to her, “it’s not like you’re a stranger or something. I’ve had other people stay over before.”

Nari couldn’t help but wonder if “other people” included Hera. 

She quickly shook the thought out of her head, which Jaemin had noticed, brows furrowing as he looked at her.

“You okay?” he asked with a laugh. “Why are you suddenly shaking your head?”

“It’s nothing,” she waved off. “Just tired.”

He let out a sigh. “This is why we should have just rescheduled watching the movie for the weekend,” he said. “You were already tired with your internship, you didn’t need to come here.”

“And I told you, it’s fine,” she countered, “there would’ve been a lot of people if we watched during the weekend. Plus, you wanted to watch the movie already, didn’t you?”

Jaemin didn’t respond after that, and she found herself turning to look at him again, only to see that he had stopped walking.

“Jaem?” she called, stopping a few feet away from the boy.

“You know, it’s really fine with me that they’re together, you don’t need to always try and make me feel better.”

She didn’t know if she should feel guilty that as of lately, the reason that she had been hanging out with him was because she wanted to, not because she thought he needed to get his mind off Hera. 

Somehow, the thought of him thinking that that was the reason kind of stung, how for her this was something that she wanted, that she really just liked being with him, but for him it was just some sort of distraction, something to make him stop thinking about the girl he had been in love with for years, just for a moment.

Despite all that, she only smiled at him and nodded. “I know, Jaem.”

[7:40 am] “Hi angel!” Jaemin sang when you answered his face call. His bright smile filled the whole screen, while you kept yours off, as you didn’t look your most beautiful right now.

He called while you were getting ready; in your bathrobe, curlers in your hair, concealer on your face and still a little sleep in your eyes.

“Hey, why are you calling now? Isn’t it like night where you are?” You asked, continuing to get ready.

“I wanted so see you before I sleep! Turn on your camera angel!” He whined.

“Well, give me about ten minutes, and I’ll be ready,” you said, trying to blend the concealer: “I look a little funny now.”

“Angel, you’re beautiful no matter what! Now let me see that gorgeous face of yours!” He assured, getting all close to the screen.

With a sigh and slumped shoulders you turned on your camera, trying your best to smile for him. The moment he saw you, he cooed and sent an flying kiss.

“Are you making fun of me now?” You scoffed and continued getting ready, now that he’s already seen you.

“What? No! I would never make fun of my beautiful angel! Now let me just enjoy you while I fall asleep.” He smiled and stared at you with eyes full of love.

“You’re crazy Na Jaemin.” You laughed.
