The first pride was a riot, more specifically a riot against police violence. Trans women like Miss Major and other people of colour paved the way for the celebration of pride today. You cannot celebrate your pride this month, or any month if you aren’t also supporting Black Lives Matter and the riots going on against police violence right now. Us white LGBTQ+ need to stand up for our black siblings and their rights, their struggles. Honestly in all of these stories these poetic white men who somehow end up immortal get so bored and miserable because they just sit in their mansion all day doing whatever it is they need to do in order to sustain their immortality and then they just throw lavish parties and organize orgies or whatever and then they’re like “why am I sad I eat three course meals and have at least one orgy daily what MORE could I POSSIBLY need??”

Like???? Damn go for a walk. Do you even KNOW your neighbors? Get a dog and take it to the park. Set up an elaborate fish tank. Go skiing like you’ve been alive for 200 years and you’ve spent 180 of it in your house looking at paintings and drinking wine with other rich assholes no wonder ur life sucks my man.

Ever think of all the skills that Zuko acquired that had nothing to do with firebending? Most of the skills he picked up had nothing to do with him being a prince either since he gained a lot of his skills after he was banished. Out of all of the members of team Avatar he’s probably one of the most versatile in his talents, and it’s so damn sad that he couldn’t see how amazingly talented he was for all those years because his father made him believe that he was worthless for showing compassion and not being a prodigy like his sister.

This is one of the many reasons I believe that Zuko is such a relatable character. Anyone who has been a victim of verbal and or physical abuse during their childhood knows how it feels to be blinded to your own self worth. An abuser will always make sure to make you think you are nothing in order to gain power over you and keep you in a place where you think you have none.

Zuko is made to feel worthless because of one transgression. His father sends him on what he truly believes is an impossible task, and still Zuko feels worthless because he can’t do the one thing no one else in his family has been able to do; catch the avatar. Yet in trying to capture the Avatar Zuko shows just how determined and skillful he is, but even when he learns that his honor does not depend on capturing the Avatar I still don’t think he can see how talented he is. 

As Fire Lord he has the weight of the world on his shoulders and he still probably feels like he has something to prove to the world and that it’s his job to restore honor to the Fire Nation. It’s not something that would allow him to stop and really appreciate all of the skills he’s picked up over the last three years. Seeing his true self worth is something that Zuko will probably always struggle with, but I’d like to think one day he gains the peace of mind to be able to see just how amazingly talented he truly is.
