What I Dislike About People Saying It's Physical Is That It Gets Entwined With Clinical Lycanthropy,
What I dislike about people saying it's physical is that it gets entwined with clinical lycanthropy, which is a mental illness where the patient believes fully they are an animal, physically and mentally. This spreads misinformation and gives the haters something to use against us.
Here’s one thing I don’t get: as far as I remember, therianthropy has always been about being physically human, but identifying as an animal. Am I wrong? Because I explicitly remember popular YouTubers and educators talking about it being non-physical. And that was what I, as an educator at some point, also shared.

Gonna utter these under my breath every night before bed. My roommate's gonna be concerned, but what's new.
Wolf affirmations for u <3
Sometimes I just remember every non-normal thing abt me, like, "oh yeah, I'm depressed.", or "oh yeah, I like guys gals and nonbinary pals."
honestly, I was going to become a vet, then I awakened and realised that my prey drive would have been rlly hard to control, but im going into zoology or marine biology of some sorts for university.
Yo, any other alter/nonhumans considering going into/are already in fields relating to their experiences? For example, fictionkin & writing or literary analysis or journalism, therian & veterinary practice or zookeeper or aquarium caretaker, otherkin & theoretical STEM fields or history or mythology-based academia, etc. Cause I've been strongly considering going into certain fields and have been considering how my nonhumanity has been affecting this decision.
one of my theriotypes is kind of prey, and i do feel extra aware at times, im also just a generally anxious and jumpy person, but i dont know if the two are related
I’ve seen a lot of talk about it predator urges, but not much about prey urges. I can’t speak on it personally since I’m not (much of) a prey animal, but I’m curious to hear anyone’s experience with that sort of thing.
