youre not gonna be able to bully the minecraft movie directors into reanimating anything because unlike with the sonic movie clearly the people who made this movie lack any personal nostalgia for it and dont get it beyond "game my kids play" and therefore just decided to take a popular ip and throw popular actors at it and spit out a corporate slop script and designs because they dont care about the viewers beyond their ability to consume and they dont care about the consumers' time unless it gives them money. to them we are pigs and this is the scraps mixed in a pail with mud and worms for us to gobble up and keep growing their coffers. its not made because they care and its not made to be cared about and i promise in like 2 years it'll disappear off streaming services because they dont care about it enough to pay to keep it around and obviously nobody's gonna rewatch it. honestly just dont watch it. not even out of spite. there's better things out there that respect your time and your hard-earned money

I was today years old. That is disgusting.
No Child Left Behind is one of the worst things to ever be incentivized in schools. It was signed into law when I was 14. Reading Rainbow was my show as a kid. LeVar Burton played a big part in why I became an avid reader to date. The joy of it. It's an adventure around the globe and through different time periods without stepping on a plane or time machine.
Children parrot behavior. In grade school, I always wanted to read the same amount of books as my teachers (50 books) and managed to double that each year. Before No Child Left Behind, book fairs and Scholastic catalogs were a serious matter like your grandma's Fingerhut catalogs. Libraries were (and still are) a wonderland.
Reading comprehension and proficiency in schools has been declining for decades. A crisis. The joy of books isn't pushed anymore and I'm always saddened by it. It's one of the reasons why I post my book reviews and recommendations on here, as well as posts from others to encourage reading and (novel) writing. Kids will parrot your behavior while the education system sadly fails to return as that example.

Hey so fun new scam just dropped! I got a call earlier today from someone spoofing the local police department's desk number, asking me if there was a reason I'd missed my jury summons this morning.
Friends, I had not received a jury summons for this month. Which I told him, at which point his previously clear diction suddenly turned into a rapid mumble, only becoming clear for scary words like 'federal' and then asking to confirm my address, at which point I hung up and decided to call the police department later.
When I called the police department the desk officer sounded so tired y'all. All I had to say was "Hey I got a call earlier saying I missed jury duty this morning?" and she immediately sighed and told me that yes it was a scam that was going around and thanked me for calling to confirm.
So this is your periodic reminder that law enforcement agencies will not call you to tell you that you're in trouble. If you need to pay a fine of some sort they will mail you a physical invoice. Anyone calling you saying they're from the police or any other law enforcement organization (up to the CIA and yes I have heard of scammers attempting to impersonate CIA agents over the phone) who then tries to get financial information from you over the phone is a scammer.
I know I actually bang on about this a weird amount, but it is my fervent hope that the information will stick in peoples' brains if they get randomly selected for the adrenaline spike lottery. Scammers use scary words to get you to panic in order to shut down your critical thinking, and if even one person's brain spits out "Tumblr user waterhobbit said the cops/CIA/federal marshalls don't call about this shit" before their bank account routing number is in the hands of assholes I will consider it a job well done.

A lot of modders have been steadily moving to Modrinth to publish their mods, but a lot of mods and modpacks are stil available only through CurseForge or FTB apps (FTB is partnered with Overwolf).
if you are using the CurseForge launcher, I'm here to tell you that you can very easily migrate to PrismLauncher.
Thankfully, the CurseForge launcher offers a convenient way to extract your instances (profiles as it calls it) which you can then import into Prism.
Go into your profile and press the 3 dots. There, click "Export profile"
Select all the files and folders
This will create a zip file of your instance and open the folder in which it saved it. Just drag and drop the zip into Prism.
With certain modpacks, Prism will show you a message saying some mods aren't available for download through 3rd party launchers. It will give you a link to the mod as well as the folder which it is watching. Just manually download that mod into that folder and Prism will take it and put it where it needs to.
Ta-da! Your instance is now on a different launcher, with all your worlds and settings.

The elongated muskrat has engaged in blatant election interference by putting out a fake voter registration page on Google ads with the clear intention to dupe voters into thinking they have actually registered to vote. It’s likely also a data harvesting tactic.
Hopefully this gets immediately flagged and taken down but we all know this fascist chucklefuck will not see consequences to his actions and this is something that would drag out in court. Spread the word. Only register to vote through state board or check vote.org for more resources. Do not register through anything else ESPECIALLY if it has some sort of clear motivation.

But one thing I don't see receiving enough attention right now is the situation in Venezuela. Nicolás Maduro has just won the Venezuelan election with 51.21% of votes compared with 44.2% going towards his rival Edmundo González Urrutia. Except THIS IS NOT THE CASE. Undeniable election fraud has taken place - anyone within Venezuela knows that Maduro is a ruthless dictator and he was an extremely unpopular candidate. Maduro's victory does not reflect the will of Venezuelan voters. Venezuelan people are getting kidnapped and killed by the military on the streets. And this is just the beginning of Maduro's rule. I am not from Venezuela, but read the messages of friends that are as the situation unfolded.
