Personally, I think it's cool how hyper specific people are getting. They're having fun with it. They're relating to a character and sharing where they're from

I don't think it's a matter of someone random seeing a hyper specific Miku and going "Yes, I know exactly what country, state, city and street that Miku lives on" because they just know such things.

I don't know shit about the individual American countries, much less America as a state. But I do know people who live in America and I think its fun when I see a Miku in their state, culture, etc, that I'm aware of and sending it to them because they can often find some relation to said Miku. Or they'll critique and laugh about it because not everyone has the exact same life

Likewise with anyone outside of America (though I've personally been seeing more cultures in geberal than anything else), I also think its cool when they get specific even if I understand even less majority of the time. I also don't even know how I'd classify to separate different places in my own country lol. They sorta meld together unlike America. Though there are some differences I could spit out on a whim, just nothing deeper

Hell, I wouldn't even know what the Miku is trying to be half the time if it wasn't in the title. And it's cool to see in the title what Miku it is. You can start to see the vision behind the intention even if it doesn't fully click

As a byproduct of the Miku trend, I feel like I've even seen people contribute aesthetic specific Miku's such as a rock or heavy metal one (can't recall. But it was pretty sick). I doubt everyone in the world is in touch with such an aesthetic, but there are people who will see it, relate to it, enjoy it whatever. And those who don't just don't. Nothing wrong with that either

Everyone comes from different places, not everyone understands those places. You can't understand without learning and you can't learn without it being shared. Even if you don't want to learn, that's okay too. No one has to learn. You're completely valid in not wanting to

Of course, you're completely entitled to your own opinion and frustrations, I am not attempting to invalidate you. I just found this interesting as I was searching for German Mikus and I like hearing people's thoughts and discussing things in general. I hope you have a good day/night and don't take this as an insult of any sort

i feel like the miku trend going around at the moment is really indicative of how american-centric tumblr (and the internet at large can be

like its this whole "miku from around the world" thing and you'll see like. german miku, polish miku, british miku, etc.

and then 8000 different variants of Specific States Of America and like. i get that the american states all have different cultures (i gu e s s. its all just american to me tbh.) but thats true of every country? and every culture?

and then they start doing specific towns and cities like philadelphia miku or whatever, new jersey miku, and because of how the internet and media just. Is, all of us are expected to know the specific intricacies of what this means and go tchyeah thats so philly

if i said adelaide miku, thatd mean Nothing to you. brisbane miku anyone? how about canberra? you see the miku with her lanyard, swipe pass, business casual attire, maybe a puffy outer jacket or jeans on a friday, i say canberra miku, we all obviously go "yeah thats so canberra miku", right??? how many of yall know what a bogan is without having to look it up aye. people in sydney could tell you which areas other people in sydney are from

this is becoming less coherent as i go on so im gonna just like stop abruptly but yeah idk

There is nothing more scary than a normal person like you or I enacting something terribly merely because "they could", "they were bored" and/or "they were curious"

It's a reality check when you see what anyone can be capable of. Your first instinct is to demonise and separate yourself from the problem

My favourite stories are when the person is not demonised beyond what they are and you're forced to face the fact they're human too. It's a million times more unsettling than pretending they're nothing more than a monster. It does not mean they are excused, justified, or should be forgiven. It means people are capable of bad things, no matter how surreal they may feel.

Life is really wild and abnormal. Sometimes we don't even know what's "realistic" because we're so stuck in our worlds. Who am I to decide what's "realistic" to another person?

This goes for new, current, and old fandoms, as well as ships. Don't put the expectation of a community on others just because you want it, engage and interact yourself. If others pull their weight to making it, too, that's a bonus you were blessed with, not you're new free labourer

Heathers need a really passionate, true-to-the-original, yet also brave to take creative liberties (like the musical did for the original movie) remake. But this time incorporating the songs of the musical to be a really top tier big screening like how the 1982 Annie was where they took full advantage of being a filmed musical. God bless that musical

Wash the 2018 Heathers out of everyone's mouths for good. It never existed. IT NEVER EXISTED.
